A Letter from a Swiss Practitioner to the People of Mainland China


Ladies and Gentlemen:

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Cartlin Molla. I live in Geneva, Switzerland, Europe. I don't know you. I found your addresses because I want to communicate with you on an important issue-- Falun Gong.

In l997, I started to practice Falun Gong. Now in the world there are people from more than fifty countries practising Falun Gong. Only China opposes it. I know that your government has used its television stations, broadcasting network and all kinds of newspapers and magazines to slander Falun Gong. Therefore, I assume that you are afraid of receiving this letter! Before writing this letter, I have thought it over as I didn't want to cause you any trouble. Therefore, let me stress it again that I am writing to you on my own initiative though I don't know you. I don't speak Chinese and one of my Chinese friends offered to translate my letter into Chinese.

I would like you to know that Falun Gong is very good and has worldwide support. Falun Gong's effects are remarkable. Since l998 I got rid of all illnesses because of practising Falun Gong. Before that any virus could make me sick, and I often felt tired. My case was not isolated. Many practitioners of Falun Gong also achieved very good effects from practising it. What deserves to be mentioned here is the book Zhuan Falun. It is this book that has changed my life. Since I began practicing Falun Gong, I have tried as hard as possible to become a good person and to conform to Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance. My relationships with people around me have clearly improved. My family members were happy to see my changes. My boss was satisfied with my performance too. I am heartily joyful that I can make people around me happy. My fellow practitioners have similar experiences.

Your government said that Falun Gong practitioners committed suicide. What I want to tell you is that according to the principles of Falun Gong, killing sentient beings

is absolutely forbidden. Your government said that Falun Gong practitioners died of not taking medicines, but Mr. Li Hongzhi never forbade his students to take medicine. What's more, he advised those who are seriously ill to go to hospital for treatment instantly. Your government is very afraid of Falun Gong. They thought that the practitioners were seeking political power. This idea is greatly mistaken. What we want is the right to freely practice cultivation and to improve ourselves continuously until we reach consummation. You might take it as superstition, but you can't prove that what is discussed in Zhuan Falun is wrong! You may disagree with Falun Gong, but the disagreement can't justify the persecution of Falun Gong. Everyone should have the freedom to adhere to his or her opinions. Falun Gong practitioners never force you to accept Falun Gong. Why does your government cruelly torture Falun Gong practitioners? Is it guilty to be a good person? This government employed the methods used during the Cultural Revolution such as brain-washing classes, labour camps, dismissing employees, withholding salaries, and so on. They even showed no mercy to children and the elderly. From the Clearwisdom Net you can learn about what has happened in China. Here we have a proverb: "In all our life, we may have only one chance to be a hero, but in our daily life, we certainly have one hundred chances not to be a coward." Here is an incident to share with you. At the end of World War II when a Catholic priest was released from a concentration camp, he was asked why he had been put in the camp. He replied," When the Nazi detained the Jew in concentration camps, I did not speak any word because I was not a Jew; when they sent communist members into camps, nor did I speak any word because I was not a communist member; when I myself was put in camp, there was no person who would speak for me."

If we let the monstrous crimes continue without being punished, what a future will we leave for our next generation? Good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil. If our society lost this important humanitarian value, would there be any peace? I understand that it is quite difficult for you to take any action towards this. However, since now you have known the truth, please treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly if you meet them. These practitioners are extraordinarily courageous and respectable. That is all I want to say. I will try to answer your questions if you have any.
