The day February 4^th is noted as the Beginning of Spring on the Chinese lunar calendar, and many Falun Gong practitioners in China are celebrating a special day, calling it "Falun Dafa Day." According to Falun Dafa Information Center's statistics, after Changchun City practitioners announced the founding of the first "Falun Dafa Day" in China in December 2001, in a little over a month Falun Gong practitioners in more than half of all Chinese provinces announced the founding of their province's "Falun Dafa Day" to signify that "everything will be renewed, the climate will change and the evil is about to be completely eliminated."

Falun Dafa Information Center, which has its headquarter in New York City pointed out today, that practitioners in Changchun City, where Falun Dafa originated, initialized their suggestion of founding the first "Falun Dafa Day" in China on December 22, 2001, the day of "winter solstice" on Chinese lunar calendar.

According to the suggestion letter written by practitioners in Changchun City, founding "Changchun Falun Dafa Day" is a great encouragement for "kind-hearted people who are under great pressure but still long for 'Truth, Compassion, Tolerance'." And by choosing the day of "winter solstice," it signifies "the evil is already exhausted and light will illuminate the human world everywhere."

According to articles on Clearwisdom Net owned by Falun Gong, practitioners in about 18 provinces successively announced online the founding of a Falun Dafa Day in their city or province within one-and-half months after the founding of "Changchun Falun Dafa Day," including Shandong Province, Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province, Liaoning province, etc., where the greatest number of practitioners have been tortured to death.

Most areas have set "Falun Dafa Day" on February 4, the "Beginning of Spring," which signifies a Spring-like renewal, "everything will be renewed, the climate will change and the evil is about to be completely eliminated," practitioners celebrated with reading Dafa books, doing exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth to people, etc.

Falun Dafa Information Center pointed out that the first Falun Dafa Day in the world was the World Falun Dafa Day founded on May 13, 2000. After that, founding of Falun Dafa Day and awards for Falun Dafa continued around the world in different cities, towns and states, led mainly by the U.S and Canada.

In addition, according to the latest report on Clearwisdom Net, in the past 13 months, about 54,700 people went online and announced that their guarantee letters and repentance letters which they were forced to write under coercion from the Chinese government are completely void, and they also announced that they have again begun practicing Falun Dafa.
