It is not an Everyday Person's Newspaper: Reading Clearwisdom.Net Attentively
(Clearwisdom.net) For a while, I found it difficult to read the torture reports regarding
Dafa disciples posted on Clearwisdom.net with attention. I read some other practitioners'
experiences where they wrote that they had read so many that they felt a bit apathetic after a
while. In my case, I was too upset to read the torture reports, and at the same time they also
tended to stir up my leftover demonic mentality of violence. I have been fighting it off and while
rejecting it, I kept sending forth righteous thoughts to help the persecuted practitioners and to
make those evil persecutors receive their retribution. However, gradually I found reading
Clearwisdom.net in this way exhausting, so I chose to read other reports first, leaving the torture
reports last. Over time, I would only take a brief glance at those reports. On the surface, I was
not much different from those everyday people who are indifferent towards the suffering of Dafa
practitioners. In addition, I did not read those "solemn declarations" carefully, and it
was for the same reason -- I found them too upsetting to read, too. There was also a hidden
mentality - I felt that they had nothing to do with me. After reading Master's recent articles, I became awakened, feeling extremely ashamed of my
earlier indifference towards the practitioners suffering persecution. What I did was none other than
pursuing temporary mental comfort, clinging to attachments, and being taken advantage of so that I
could not be part of the indestructible unified body formed by all Dafa disciples! I now see the root cause for this way of thinking, and in fact any human mentality and thoughts
straying away from Fa-rectification will lead one to exhaustion. To be truly indestructible like a
diamond requires one to act completely in accordance to the Fa. If I had been able to eliminate the
evil with strong righteous thoughts, I would not have avoided reading the torture reports. It was
due to my weak main consciousness and unsteadiness in eliminating the evil. I have also corrected and renewed my attitude toward "solemn declarations." All those
brutal beatings, tortures and deceptions are aimed to force Dafa practitioners to depart from the Fa.
"Solemn declarations" therefore provide an environment to break away from the evil in
oneself and to expose the evil persecution. At the same time, I can draw lessons from those
practitioners who had been on a difficult path. Another important point is that, although I do not
know these practitioners and will not have a chance to talk to them, I wholeheartedly welcome back
these fellow practitioners with kindness and compassion cultivated in the Fa. I also send forth
righteous thoughts to eliminate those evil old forces and thugs who persecuted practitioners and who
are still persecuting Dafa. I have made a decision - when reading articles from Clearwisdom.net, I will abandon my former
mentality of reading them as if reading a "newspaper." I will read them with righteous
thoughts and compassion, determined to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. I will
change from reading for my own satisfaction to treating it as a process of becoming one body with
all Dafa practitioners across the world, and a process of selfless elevation through continuously
absorbing the useful material and wisdom in order to better help people to know the truth. Some practitioners, me included, intentionally or unintentionally pick their favorites when
reading articles from Clearwisdom.net or Pureinsight.org. My view is that Clearwisdom.net and
Pureinsight.org are precious places amidst the persecution for experience sharing and flow of
information. Those fellow practitioners who engage themselves in Fa-rectification work, day and
night, tried very hard to find time to write out these articles to share with others. There are also
those fellow practitioners who risked their lives to send the persecution reports out of China. They
wanted to, through their efforts as Dafa particles, help Dafa disciples across the world form a more
compassionate and indestructible united body. If we treat Clearwsdom.net lightly as an everyday
person's newspaper, then would it be any different from not listening attentively to other
practitioners' experience sharing at a Fa conference? Aren't we sharing some common ground with
those people in society who think Dafa practitioners' efforts in clarifying the truth are
unnecessary? Also, let us think of those practitioners in jail, for whom one day feels like a year.
We can now send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. If we let go of the evil in front of
us, we are as bad as neglecting our duty. Only by studying the Fa well, by being familiar with the
information on Clearwisdom.net can we do better in truth clarification and compassionately bring the
wisdom bestowed to us by the Fa into full play. Think about it: if we ourselves do not truly care
about the news of the persecution against practitioners in China and cannot purify ourselves at all
times, then what sort of influence do we bring upon people when we clarify the truth to them? Master said in "Lecture at the Conference in New Zealand," "I hope that all of you
will sit quietly when listening to other peoples' presentations. To cherish others is to cherish
yourself. This is because the Fa conference is holy and sacred, and you are cultivating the Dafa of
the cosmos! " (Unofficial translation) I have thus understood that we must read the articles from Clearwisdom.net and Pureinsight.org
attentively, and measure whatever mentalities we have against the Fa. We must firmly clear out the
evil factors we still possess and firmly eliminate all the evils that are damaging the Fa with
righteous thoughts. In fact, when practitioners keep a very pure mind, we can do everything very
quickly. Our efficiency is far superior to everyday people. I hope that together with all practitioners, we will forge with the purest righteous thoughts an
indestructible unified body on our path of Fa-rectification cultivation. |
