Covered with Injuries, Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Jiang Suhua Tortured to Death

Jiang Suhua was a 50-year-old female Falun Dafa practitioner from Shihuiyao Village, Yangtian Township, Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. On December 27 of the Chinese Lunar calendar (February 8, 2002), the Party Secretary, Township Chief, and the Head of the Yangtian Township Police Station, headed a contingent of police from the Chicheng County Police Department. They illegally barged into Jiang Suhua's home. After they searched her home, they forcefully handcuffed her and detained her for 15 days at the Chicheng County Detention Center. After 15 days, they still refused to release her and would not even allow her family members to visit her.

As soon as she was detained, Jiang Suhua started a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. However, this did not concern the authorities one bit until the 19th day of her hunger strike, when she fell into a coma. They then sent her to the county hospital. The county hospital couldn't do anything for her, and so later that day they sent her on to the Zhangjiakou City Hospital. However, 6 days later (March 2^nd, 2002), it was reported that she suddenly died. According to witnesses, there was a large knot on the back of her head. There were also wounds on her body and extravasated blood in her mouth. Her family was billed over 10,000 Yuan for her hospitalization.

A kind lady who practiced "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" was tortured to death, just like that. At least 8 Falun Dafa practitioners are still detained at the Chicheng County Detention Center. Some of them have been detained for over 9 months, and most have held hunger strikes. However, the detention center still refuses to release them.

In the Chicheng County area, the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is most severe in Yangtian Township. Last year in Yangtian Township, 10 practitioners were detained, beaten and fined. The escalation persecution has now resulted in the death of Jiang Suhua.

This is the second reported death of Falun Dafa practitioners in Zhangjiakou City this year. Mr. Gu Chenghai from Zhangjiakou City was tortured to death in January, as reported by Clearwisdom.net. At least 7 practitioners have been tortured to death in Zhangjiakou City since July 20, 1999.

We call upon all kindhearted people in the world act together to stop this persecution in China, to stop the evil persecution in Chicheng County. We demand that the Jiang regime release all unlawfully detained Falun Dafa practitioners.
