[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yajie's Mental Breakdown as a Result of Persecution by Officials from the "610 Office" in Langfang City's Pipeline Bureau

Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yajie, 59 years old, is a retired official in the Senior Official Section of Langfang City's Pipeline Bureau. Several days before the Spring Festival, officials from the Pipeline Bureau illegally brought Ms. Liu Yajie to the Yuecheng Hotel for brainwashing. Her son and daughter worried about her when they came back to celebrate the Spring Festival with their mother. Personnel from the "610 Office [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]" carried out the forced brainwashing of Ms. Liu Yajie. Over two months ago, Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Kefei was tortured to death. Because of the predilection between related departments, the murderers are still at large.

Dafa practitioners in Changchun City clarified the truth to the public in a timely fashion with all kinds of methods. They exposed the vicious persecutions in the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp and also in the Labor Camp Hospital. Self-sticking posters reading, "In order to awaken people's conscience, Dafa practitioner Wang Kefei is dead from suffering a wrong," "Punish the murderers who tortured Wang Kefei," "Stop persecuting Falun Gong," appeared everywhere in the city. On January 15 of the Chinese lunar calendar, nearly a hundred banners attracted people's attention within several miles around the Labor Camp Central Hospital, including the Tiebei Detention Center, Teibei Jail and the Xingye Police Station, where police relentlessly had persecuted Dafa practitioners.

People were talking about this issue and showed sympathy for practitioner Ms. Wang Kefei. They were strongly against the brutal persecution. Some said, "Those drug addicts and drug traffickers can save their lives with bribes. However, a healthy person was tortured to death. So what is the meaning of 'governing a country with law?'"

[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Persecuting Dafa Practitioners in the Yuecheng Hotel, the Evil's Den

Langfang City's Yuecheng Hotel in Hebei Province has turned into an evil's den in persecuting Dafa practitioners. Since July 2001 when the authorities set up a brainwashing class, police have kidnapped and forcibly brainwashed practitioners, and sentenced or sent those practitioners to forced labor camps who did not give up Falun Gong practice. They subjected practitioners to inhumane mental tortures. They ordered special agents impersonating practitioners to deceive kind-hearted practitioners and trap practitioners into the evil's den. During the past half a year since the brainwashing class was set up, many practitioners have been persecuted. The following are some examples.

When a female practitioner was working, a group of policemen kidnapped her to the Yuecheng Hotel, which made neighboring people very angry.

A sixty-year-old woman was persistent in practicing Falun Gong. In order to put her into this brainwashing class, policemen told a collaborator named Chen Maojie to cheat the elderly woman. Chen was a former contact person and went astray after he was put into a forced labor camp; then he was released. He acts as a special agent for the police authorities in order to get back his employment. He tricked the elderly woman to study the Fa and do the exercise with him. Afterwards, he had policemen kidnap her from her home to the Yuecheng Hotel. Only half a month later, the healthy old woman was persecuted so severely as to suffer a mental breakdown. She can no longer take care of herself.

Actually, the so-called "transformation" is forcing practitioners not to be good people. For example, after a practitioner cultivated Falun Gong, he worked hard and did not fuss about his personal interests. His supervisors and colleagues all thought highly of him during the several years of his Falun Gong practice. Since the brainwashing class was opened, policemen conspired with his supervisors and forcibly brought him to the Yuecheng Hotel. Half a month later, he was released and had totally changed. He began to care for his personal interests and often quarreled with others. His mother complained to everyone, "After my son was 'transformed,' he began to smoke, drink alcohol and even gamble."

The persecution in this Yuecheng Hotel continues. Determined Dafa practitioners can neither go to their workplaces nor go back to their homes.

[Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Brutal Beating of a Female Dafa Practitioner

According to reliable sources, Ms. Lin Weimin, a Dafa practitioner detained in No.1 Group, Female Division, which is specially set up for persecuting Dafa practitioners in Anshan City's Forced Labor Camp, was beaten for nearly two hours.

Ms. Lin Weimin, 44 years old, a resident of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, is a former employee of Lishan District Hospital. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor for posting Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the street. Because she refused to cooperate with the evil's orders and instructions, hardened female criminals often insulted and beat her. On January 22, 2002, because she refused a criminal's command to sit on the edge of a bed, a group of women criminals forcibly took her away from the No.1 group. About two hours later she was brought back. She was covered in bruises. Her back, chest, buttocks and thighs were black and blue as a result of the brutal beating. She had difficulty breathing and couldn't stop coughing.

Ms. Lin Weimin said she was dragged to No.6 Division and five women prisoners beat and kicked her. They hit her with sticks and hard plastic bottles. While beating, they claimed that they were going to kick her vulnerable parts. It was estimated that they beat Ms. Lin for around two hours. After the beating, the thugs threatened her not to tell others; otherwise they would torture her to death. These five female criminals are Huang Xiuqing, Meng Lina, Liu Wenjun, Han Bo, and Hao Wei.

After this incident, the officials in Anshan City's Forced Labor Camp only transferred Huang Xiuqing, the lead criminal, away from No.1 Group. They did nothing to help the victim, Ms. Lin Weimin. Ms. Lin's request to meet with her family was also denied, because the thugs were afraid their crime would be exposed. They ordered a news blackout to cover up their crime.

[Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Illegal Detention of Two Over Sixty-Year-Old Female Falun Dafa Practitioners

Ms. Xu Jingxian, 66 years old, was a retired official from Tiedong Hospital affiliated with Anshan City's Steel Company. In 1996 she began to practice Falun Gong. After July 20, 1999, police authorities and neighborhood committee officials have always monitored her. On December 4, 2000, policemen unlawfully took her away from her home and sentenced her to two years of forced labor. Ms. Xu's husband and her mother-in-law, who was in her 80's and in poor health, were left at home without care. Ms. Xu's home phone number is 011-86-412-6311147. After July 20, 1999 policemen often removed her from home and then illegally detained her for between 15 days and one month. Officials from the Security Section and the Retirement Administration Office from the Tiedong Hospital often restricted her personal freedom and illegally detained her at Tiedong Hospital. In June 2000, Ms. Zhang and her daughter Luo Yan were forced to live in exile. On February 21, 2001, Ms. Zhang and her daughter were both arrested and illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. Luo Yan is now illegally detained at Anshan City's Forced Labor Camp. In a detention center in Northeast China, a woman Dafa practitioner persistently refused to cooperate with the evil. She often clarified the truth and spread Dafa to guards and prisoners. On February 7, 2001, practitioner Ms. Wang Fajuan from Daqing City was kidnapped and taken to Daqing City's Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and the vicious persecution. Policemen in the detention center dragged her and force-fed her everyday. As a result, Ms. Wang Fejuan suffered from numbness in half of her body, pain in her ears and dyspnea [difficulty breathing]. At present, many practitioners are still on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention in this center. [Beijing] Brainwashed People Become Vicious and Beat Their Former Fellow Practitioners

Before the Spring Festival of 2002, officials from Changping District's "610 Office" in Beijing again arrested some practitioners for brainwashing. In order to show off, a collaborator named Ding Guili stepped out to beat other practitioners and interfered with practitioners' righteous belief and thoughts. She even claimed that she did not fear going to hell.

After his release, a collaborator named Wang Qiang who had been brainwashed at the Daxing Forced Labor Camp began to persecute other practitioners. He not only beat practitioners but also made practitioners squat under a bed and then sat on it. Is the intention of China's dictator such as to spare no efforts to brainwash practitioners and make them into human beings as vicious as that?

Just after the Spring Festival, the Chinese dictator launched another round of persecution against Dafa practitioners because the "two conferences [People's Congress and the Political Consultation Conference]" were going to be held. In order to completely deprive practitioners of their rights of appeal, which are endowed by the Constitution, under government pressure, all national enterprises in China began to register practitioners' names.

For example, the "Top Instruction" sent to each level of officials in a national enterprise in Northeast China stated that each Party director of a factory must be responsible for the employees. If anyone goes to Tiananmen Square during the period of the "two conferences," according to the routine, the Party director of the factory as well as the Party director of the workshop that the appellant belongs to must be punished. Whoever practices Falun Dafa should fill out forms again, in order to be recorded and classified.

All of the employees of the factory must sign "Guarantee Statements." Dafa practitioners must guarantee not to go to Beijing, while the non-Dafa practitioners must guarantee that they will not practice Falun Dafa in the future. This is not a joke. Since the year 2000, this kind of guarantee statement has already been implemented among national enterprises. At the same time the enterprise have manpower and financial support at their disposal to prepare brainwashing classes. Those practitioners who refuse to sign any guarantee statements will be forcibly sent to rural mountain areas to be brainwashed.

Since "July 20^th", vicious officials have manipulated their subordinates to disturb and persecute Falun Gong practitioners by using any and all means. The following are some reports of persecution against several practitioners.

Although I haven't been beaten or detained, my personal freedom was infringed upon. Policemen called me three or four times every day to monitor my activities. If nobody answered the phone they would assail me, "Where did you go? Why did you not report your whereabouts through the phone?" I did not violate any law nor I have committed any crime. Why should I report my whereabouts? Obviously, they deprived me of my personal freedom! Is this Chinese law? Though I have not committed any crime or done anything wrong, they broke into and ransacked my home and they also threatened my husband that if he didn't assist them to persuade me to give up the practice of Falun Gong, he would be suspended from his employment! What kind of laws do they enforce? They were all "people's policemen" and also government officials, but under pressure from their "superiors," they violated the law while executing the law without conscience.

A practitioner got in a police vehicle and planned to clarify the truth to them. After arriving at the destination the abusive policemen began to beat and kick him and slap his face. As a result his face was swollen. They even used a heavy wooden pole to apply pressures to his toes until they turned black and blue. They also forced him to write the "guarantee statement," otherwise they would put him into a brainwashing class. This practitioner was forced to live in exile for more than four months. Within these four months, policemen detained his wife for 22 hours. At the same time they interrogated his younger brother and sister and went to his elder brother and sister's home asking, "Did he hide in your home?" They also forced this practitioner's wife to lead them to his brother-in-law's home to search for him. Actually, it was the conscienceless police who disturbed society's public security.

Another practitioner was illegally arrested and has been detained for more than half a year just because he clarified the truth to the public. During his detention his wife had undergone two major surgeries. The hospital informed him that her illness is aggravated and she needs a third operation. This practitioner requested to take care of his wife, but he was forced to write the "transformation statement." In addition, he was heavily fined. Policemen knew the operation would cost him lots of money, but on order of the vicious police, they also extorted money from him. Where were their consciences?

Another two practitioners were extorted 16,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is average monthly income in urban areas of China] and 12,000 Yuan, respectively, because they went to Beijing to clarify the truth.

These persecution cases I mentioned above are similar to the ones that are happening everywhere in China. The authorities make use of their power to force subordinates to do such bad deeds. We hope the persons connected with these bad deeds will wake up as soon as possible to protect kind people.

[Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Policemen from Qinghe Town's Station Persecute a Dafa Practitioner Couple and Intimidate Their Thirteen-Year-Old Daughter

On January 14, 2002, policemen from the police station in Qinghe Town/Tonghua City attempted to arrest Dafa practitioner Mr. Bu Jingwen. The practitioner had left home one day earlier and is now living in exile to avoid illegal arrest.

The policemen then collaborated with some journalists to look for the practitioner's wife, Ms. Tan Guirong, to obtain some information they can use to defame Dafa. Ms. Tan resolutely refused them. Dong Benjun, director of the Qinghe Police Station thus ordered policemen Su Wenbo, Lin Taifu, Liu Zhixi and others to forcibly break into Ms. Tan's home and abducted Ms. Tan. They forcefully maneuvered Ms. Tan into the police car and then ransacked her home. Later, they detained Ms. Tan at Ji'an City's Detention Center. The ruffian policemen illegally broke into the couple's home many times. They climbed over a compound wall and forced the couple's 13 years old daughter to open the door. Then they searched and confiscated private property at their will. They even threatened the 13-year-old girl with arrest as well. They inflicted serious injury to the little girl's heart.
