(Clearwisdom.net) On January 22, 2002 Dafa practitioner Lu Xiuyun was critically injured while being force-fed by detention center guards. Her condition worsened over the next six weeks, and on the night of March 7, 2002 Lu Xiuyun passed away in a hospital.

Lu Xiuyun had been on hunger strike for more than 50 days to protest her illegal detention. The police in Daqing City Detention Center brutally force-fed her, critically injuring her on January 22. She was sent to a hospital emergency room on the evening of January 23. Because her condition did not improve after treatment, the police tried to shirk responsibility by asking her relatives to take her home. After she was taken back home on February 22, 2002, she went into a coma and experienced swelling in her hands and head. She passed away at 9:00 p.m. on March 7, 2002.
