Biography of Dalian Practitioner Chen Yong, Who Was Tortured to Death (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Chen Yong was born on November 3, 1967.
He was 34 years old when he was tortured to death in Guanshan Re-education Camp,
Changtu County, Liaoning Province on January 30, 2002.
He began working in North Agriculture Bank, Dalian Economic Development Zone
in 1998.
He won an honorary certificate from the labor union in 1993.
He was recognized as an advanced worker for 4 consecutive years in his unit
from 1995 to 1998.
He started practicing Falun Gong in 1995 and benefited both physically and
mentally.
He worked hard and did several people's workloads. He was highly praised by
his supervisors and colleagues.
He was dismissed in 1999 due to his determination of practicing Falun Gong.
He went to Beijing in October 1999 to appeal for Falun Gong and was escorted
back in November. He was detained illegally for one month in the No.3 Detention
Center in Dalian Economic Development Zone.
In July 2000, police from Huanghai Road Police Station took him away from
home and sent him to a drug rehabilitation center. He was firmly determined to
practice during the two-month long torture. At that time some people wrote
guarantee letters against their will after failing to endure pressure from the
evil and left the center. Chen Yong was determined not to write the letter.
He was sent for illegal forced labor re-education in Dalian Re-education Camp
in October 2000. He was tortured in May 2001 and did not yield even after he was
beaten to unconsciousness.
On September 9, 2001, Chen Yong and other over 20 practitioners were escorted
to Guanshan Re-education Camp, Changtu, Liaoning Province. Relatives were not
allowed to visit them or deliver items for daily use. In October Chen suffered
from scabies over his entire body.
On January 30, 2002, Chen Yong was tortured to death. Before he passed away,
his family went to visit him. He was unconscious and couldn't speak. On the
next day he passed away. He leaves behind an 8-year-old boy at home.
Chen Yong was kind, righteous, and well regarded by his neighbors.
