Under Constant Persecution by Police in Heizuizhi Forced Labor Camp, Practitioner Lu Shuqiu Loses Her Life for Her Beliefs

(Clearwisdom.net) Lu Shuqiu, a woman about 46 years old, was a Dafa practitioner in Jilin City, Jilin Province. She went to Beijing to validate the Fa in October 2000 and February 2002, respectively.

In October 2000, Lu went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. On November 24, 2000, she was illegally sent to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province, where she was tortured for 8 months.

She was first assigned to the 4^th team. Due to her determination in Dafa, she was transferred to an intensive labor "education team" to receive the most severe persecution in the labor camp. Deprived of visitation rights with her relatives, she was forced to take on an overload of work every day, which lasted from at least 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM . She had no break in the middle of the workday, not even to go to the bathroom. Even the 5-minute washroom period given other inmates every morning and evening was denied her.

The heaviest work in the labor camp is to put the printed pages of books in order. It requires the workers to keep waving their hands ceaselessly. Every day she was forced to do the work. Moreover, with the warden constantly yelling, "Hurry up! Hurry up" on the side, everyone was extremely stressed and tired. The practitioners were also forced to write so-called "mental-state" reports twice a month. The police forced them to attack Dafa and Teacher in the reports, adding more pressure on the illegally detained practitioners.

Two months later, Lu was transferred to the sixth team, which is the so-called "example team," an "honor" awarded the authority in charge of labor camps nationwide. Lu was in the first squadron of the team. The warden there is named Zhang Tao, one of the most vicious in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. On the day Lu was sent there, Zhang and team leader Li "talked" to her to force her to give up her belief in Dafa. They also instructed some collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to deceive her with their lies in a shameful attempt to weaken her belief. But Lu did not waver. Then they decided to instigate the other 50 people in the team to help coerce her. The authorities forced all 50 to stay awake all night long until she yielded.

The biggest wish for the detainees under heavy labor is to have a good sleep. Lu felt very sad for affecting the others. Zhang sinisterly said, "You practitioners always say to think about others. Can you bear with their sufferings?"

Under the coercion of Zhang Tao, Lu had to write a so-called renouncement statement. To further the persecution, Zhang also forced her to read articles in a book that viciously slanders Dafa. When Lu refused to do so, Zhang slapped her with the book. This evil persecution drove Lu to the verge of mental collapse. She was not allowed to sleep at night and, one month later, she became so thin that she was reduced to little more than skin and bone. Seeing her miserable state, even people from her hometown coming to visit her couldn't help shedding tears. They asked Zhang Tao, "How did Lu Shuqiu become so thin? Has she been ill?"

Even under such suffering, Lu determinedly restored her righteous thoughts. In April 2001, the national authority sent an inspection team to the labor camp. The labor camp staged a demonstration of physical exercises by the prisoners for the visiting inspection team. Lu happened to be at the back. A visitor asked her, "Is Falun Dafa good? Did someone deceive you into going to Beijing to make trouble?" Lu answered categorically, "I became healthy after I practiced Falun Gong. I benefited from Dafa. Nobody deceived me, and it was my own decision to go to Beijing." It gave the evil force a heavy blow on the spot. The visitors were extremely embarrassed.

After the inspection team left, the labor camp intensified the persecution of Lu. First they threatened her, and then they shocked her with several electric batons simultaneously. This caused damage to Lu's heart. After several torture sessions like this, Lu started a hunger strike during Labor Day. They handcuffed Lu to an iron bed and fed her forcibly three times a day. Although the medical doctors gave instructions to feed her milk made from powder, a vicious warden named Sun Mingyan used poor quality soup and rice instead. The force-feeding was actually a very cruel form of punishment. Whenever they force-fed Lu, the head of the team took the sick people (with heart disease) outside, to spare them the shock of seeing and hearing the torture.

Under the persecution of these vicious wardens, Lu's health was completely destroyed. The electrical shocks caused damage to her heart muscles and the force-feeding injured her stomach. In the end, she developed fatal hemorrhaging. To shirk responsibility for her death, camp authorities instructed her relatives take her for medical treatment.

Lu Shuqiu was a warm, kind, and helpful woman before she was sent to the labor camp. She benefited a lot from practicing Falun Gong. However, for telling the people her true words about Falun Dafa, she received extremely brutal torture by Jiang's terrorist gang, until she lost her life.
