Over 10 practitioners, including Ms. Li Chunquan who were brutally beaten while appealing on Tiananmen Square several weeks ago, held a one-day hunger strike to condemn the Jiang regime's new "Shoot to Kill" order and called upon the city government to uphold justice.

Yesterday's appeal also unveiled "TV Show Public Appeal" in San Francisco. Falun Gong practitioners showed videos that depict Falun Dafa around world and the truth of the persecution in hopes that more kind people will know the truth and raise their voices of justice. In the evening, practitioners held candlelight vigils to memorialize those who have lost their lives in the persecution.

Practitioners held hunger strikes outside the city government and delivered an appeal letter and Dafa information to city officials. Mr. Leining, who was among the practitioners who appealed on Tiananmen Square in February, said, "The fact that the Chinese government applies news censorship, beats western practitioners who say "Falun Dafa Is Good" on Tiananmen Square and Jiang's new order to "Kill them without Mercy" all demonstrate that the Jiang regime fear its crimes being exposed." He said, "One effective way for the people to show support is to express their concerns on this issue and ask their government officials to voice their support for justice and human rights. Apparently the Chinese government is so afraid of the proclamations to Falun Gong that they send their people everywhere, spreading lies and pursuing American government officials in attempts to get them to recant their support of Falun Gong. Their pressures of US government officials, Chinese media and their underhanded actions in Chinese communities also demonstrate that we cannot remain indifferent to the persecution of Falun Gong."

In her letter to Mayor Brown, Ms. Li Chunquan said that government officials in the US are in a special position to combat terrorists' actions and save lives. She said that international pressure could ease the persecution of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners. A recent example is the case of Zhao Ming. Another example is Lu Jianhua, sister of a Bay area resident, who was released in China after San Jose's mayor and city council demanded her release and urged an end to the persecution in a press conference.

Ms. Li Chunquan also made an analogy of what is happening in China to the atrocities of Nazis in WWII. She said the people then used excuses of "not knowing," but now Amnesty International and human rights organization have concrete evidence and records of the cruelty of Jiang's regime against Falun Gong practitioners. She called upon the city government to condemn the inhuman crimes committed by the Jiang regime and not remain silent.

She asked mayor Brown to write to President Bush, Jiang Zemin and the mayor of Changchun to condemn the recent acts of terrorism and urge and end to this persecution. She said, "Only persistent and resolute voices can stop this persecution."
