Colorado University Campus Welcomes Falun Dafa

On February 27, 2002, 7 local practitioners introduced the practice of Falun Dafa to university students and staff at a cultural festival on the Auraria campus. The Auraria campus is located in downtown Denver, Colorado and is shared by the University of Colorado at Denver, Metro State College, and Denver Community College. We had a good mix of ages and nationalities, including 2 Westerners, 3 Chinese, a Persian, and a Vietnamese practitioner. Approximately 100 people watched our demonstration of the 5 sets of exercises. As 5 practitioners demonstrated the shortened 20-minute exercises, one practitioner videotaped the event, and the other practitioner talked about the benefits of each exercise and provided an introduction to Falun Dafa and its worldwide acceptance and recognition. We placed our truth-clarifying materials at one of the booths for people to take home. After the demonstration, the hosts applauded, thanked us, and announced that they would invite us to come next year.

The person in charge had passed by our Denver practice site a month ago and asked us to perform the exercises for this event. The organizers had some extra funding and wanted to give us some money for our time and effort. However, we told them that we do not accept any donations and that we do this voluntarily. We will send them a thank you card for welcoming Falun Dafa at their campus.
