My name is Fan Chunyan. I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner. Because of the government's persecution to Falun Gong, I was illegally sent to Wanjia Labor Camp (Harbin City) for a 3 year term that started in April 2001.

Because I'm firm in my belief in Falun Gong, I have been arrested six times. My Mom is 78. My Dad passed away a long time ago. Since I'm the only child in the family, there is no one to take care of my Mom. My work place laid me off just because I practice Falun Dafa, thus my family has no income. My Mom is unwell and now there is no one to look after her.

Today local government officials came to Wanjia Labor Camp to hold a so-called "Help and Teach Meeting." They just want to brain wash us into giving up Falun Gong. They try to persuade us to be ""transformed" as quickly as then can so they can release us and send us home. Some one doesn't understand us; he even said that we practitioners are so selfish that we discard our family members. Do you know how I missed my mom, how eager I am to return home and see her? But I won't lie just to have a job or to reunite with Mom. My actions are not selfish or just for myself; they are for validating Dafa and rescuing people. Belief is a citizen's right guaranteed by China's Law. Who is preventing me from returning home to take care of Mom? It is the people who persecute Falun Gong.

Last year I was arrested by the Power Bureau police station. Police officers Guan and Zhou beat me and kicked me; they even struck me with electrical batons. I was having my period that time and told them not to torture me. They didn't listen. Three times they put my head into a plastic bag to suffocate me. My legs were black from the beatings. Is this what the people's police should do? They viciously said: "It doesn't matter if Falun Gong practitioners are beaten to death. Thus you can go to consummation quickly." From 10 am to 3:30 pm, they inhumanly tortured me, tried to force me to give up Falun Gong, tried to get me to tell them who had passed me truth clarify materials and how I had obtained Teacher Li's article. Finally officer Guan cuffed my hands on the heating pipes, forced into a position in which my head was lower than my hips. Every 5 minutes, I was jolted with electric shocks from the batons. To be frank, I was in so much pain that I thought it would be a relief to kill myself by hitting the wall with my head. But then, they could say I committed suicide; so I didn't do that. I endured the pain. After I returned from the labor camp, officials, doctors, and criminals in the First Camp all saw how bad my body was beaten. I reported to officials of the Second Camp, and they recorded the details.

Even though today, in kindness, I still would like to tell those police who have beaten me or contacted with me: I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner, I won't hate you, you are deceived by Jiang's lies. I want to tell you that Dafa practitioners are here so more people will be rescued, by clarifying the truth to people and letting them know what's kind and what's evil. Many people are deceived by slander broadcast on TVs, radios, and in newspapers. Facing unfair persecution, we just want to say a word from the bottom of our hearts, and to clarify the truth to people. For that we are illegally detained, sent to labor camps, sentenced to jail, even killed.

I have been jailed for almost a year. I endured hardships that would be unbearable for ordinary people. Meanwhile, I miss my family members and friends.

People awaken! We Falun Gong practitioners don't have propaganda, we just speak the truth, to rescue those people deceived by the liar, this is the greatest compassion. Again I want to say sincerely, "We clarify the truth to people, represent truth, and are rescuing people. I wish you would release practitioners in your work scope. It is also the common feelings of practitioners detained in Wanjia Labor Camp. If you can do this, you are setting a wonderful future for yourself."
