Practitioners from Los Angeles Hold Press Conference, Eleven Practitioners End Their Hunger Strike (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 21, 2002, eleven practitioners from Los Angeles successfully completed their three-day hunger strike. Local practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Consulate. Fox TV, Pasadena Star News, Free Asia Radio, a Vietnamese Chinese Newspaper, KFI, KNX and other media all covered the event.

Practitioners read the statement of the hunger appeal and an open letter to the Chinese Consulate. They said, Jiang's recent order of "Shoot at will" and "Kill without mercy" against peaceful Falun Gong practitioners was severely unconstitutional; it is inhuman and against heavenly laws. If we just watch the killing, what faces our nation is a terrifying disaster. Practitioners strongly protested the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners conducted by Jiang's gang and called for an immediate end to the killing. They also called for all kindhearted people, international organizations and governments to uphold justice so as to together help stop Jiang's gang's illegal orders of killing and also rescue the Falun Gong practitioners being tortured in China.

Even though they had not taken any food for a few days, the practitioners were all in good spirits. Two days before the hunger appeal, the local temperature suddenly dropped and then it started raining. However, practitioners kept sending forth righteous thoughts and firmly went through the hunger appeal despite the bad weather. The Chinese Consulate had called the police to try to interfere in the practitioners' activities, but instead, the police were deeply touched by the practitioners.
