03/21/2002 Swiss Falun Gong follower Erich Bachmann demonstrates outside the Legislative Council yesterday against the arrest of fellow [practitioners] for alleged obstruction outside the Beijing Liaison Office. The arrests took place last Thursday as the 16 Falun Gong [practitioners], including four Swiss nationals, were staging a hunger strike outside the office in Connaught Road West. The 16 were later charged with obstructing a public place and taking part in an act whereby obstruction may occur. It is the first time practitioners have been prosecuted in Hong Kong.
