[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] 80-Day Hunger Strike of Dafa
Practitioner Mr. Chang Hong During Unconstitutional Detention--His Life is in
Extreme Danger
Dafa practitioner Mr. Chang Hong refused to write the three statements [These
statements declare that practitioners are sorry they ever practiced Falun Dafa,
are guaranteeing never to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, will not associate
with other Dafa practitioners and will give up their faith in Dafa] and has
been determined to continue to cultivate Dafa since he was arrested. Till now,
he has been on a hunger strike for 80 days in order to protest the
unconstitutional detention. His stomach and intestine has been stuck together.
He is presently at Harbin City Medical University for emergency medical
treatment. Please pay close attention to this issue.
As far as I can remember, Mr. Chang Hong is six feet in height. He is very
honest and kind, with few words. Before July 22, 1999, he got up to do the
exercises at 3 a.m. every morning, no matter, rain or shine. He diligently
cultivates himself. He is a steadfast Dafa practitioner.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioners Have been on a
Lengthy Protest Hunger Strike in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp
About 70 Dafa practitioners are unconstitutionally detained in Harbin City's
Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. As a result of the long-term persecution, most of
them have suffered from scabies. Dozens of practitioners have to stay in bed and
cannot take care of themselves. They are in extreme pain. Abusive policemen
still brutally persecute practitioners. In early March, four practitioners were
forcibly put into solitary confinement cells for additional persecution. In
order to protest the vicious persecution and unconstitutional detention, Mr.
Chang Hong, Mr. Yu Naiping and other practitioners have been on a hunger strike
for a long time. Their lives are in extreme danger. They were sent to Harbin
City's No.2 Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The vicious policemen
handcuffed them to the beds and force-fed them, though they could not eat and
were in a coma. During the night, dozens of policemen were dispatched to watch
the practitioners.
One day, director Chi Changjing led policemen to drive practitioners'
visiting relatives out of the wards. They pushed several extremely emaciated
practitioners onto the bed to give them injections. They videotaped all this
"treatment" and then forced the family members to cooperate with them
for producing a video recording. They attempted to fake the image of their
humanitarianism and their initiative in providing treatment for practitioners in
order to cover up their crimes. Some family members rejected the requests. As a
result, they were deprived of their rights to look after and visit these
practitioners.
At present, the persecution and the hunger strike protests are continuing.
[Ningxia Province] About 40 Dafa Practitioners were Arrested before the
Spring Festival
It has been confirmed that another approximately 40 practitioners, most of
whom are from the capital of Ningxia Province, were arrested around the time of
the Spring Festival. Except for a few of them who were released, the others were
watched over by policemen to do hazardous and harmful work like tearing out
Nylon strings from wasted rubber tires. Most of these practitioners were
arrested at home after policemen had ransacked their homes. According to the
practitioners being released, the detained practitioners only regretted that
they had not done more Dafa truth-clarifying work when they were free!
Around the time of the Spring Festival, in line with the Chinese ruling
dictator's vicious orders, officials from the related local departments carried
out a nationwide action. It was heard from practitioners who knew the details
that policemen entered the practitioners' homes and then arrested practitioners
when they saw any Dafa truth-clarifying materials. They also used the false
excuse of supposed information that practitioners in Ningxia Province planned to
gather, which they heard from a web site. Thereby, practitioners have increased
the times of sending righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil persecuting Dafa
and Dafa practitioners.
[Weifang City, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioners Mr. Zhang Daozhong and
Mr. Dai Weisong Are Illegally Arrested and Sentenced to Forced Labor
Officers in the Beihai Street Police Station of Weifang City's Development
District Police Department act as "pioneers" in persecuting Falun
Gong. Around the Spring Festival they arrested lots of practitioners. Mr. Zhang
Daozhong and Mr. Dai Weisong were arrested and sentenced to three years and one
year of forced labor, respectively. They have been sent into the Changle Forced
Labor Camp.
On December 27, 2001 in the Chinese lunar calendar, Dong Hongtao, director of
the Beihai Police Precinct led a dozen policemen including Xiaoma to break into
practitioner Dai Weisong's home when Mr. Dai Weisong and Mr. Zhang Daozhong were
watching a videotape of Teacher's lectures. The policemen arrested Mr. Zhang and
Mr. Dai without due process of law, and returned twice on the same night,
breaking the doors and windows to ransack Mr. Dai's home. Without finding any
evidence, the policemen illegally detained Mr. Zhang and Mr. Dai for a month and
did not inform their families until January 15.
[Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Illegal Arrest of 15 Dafa Practitioners
In early March, fifteen practitioners held a Dafa conference at Sifang
District. Due to the lack of security preparation, all of them were arrested.
Their whereabouts are still unknown.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] The Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in the
No.2 Division of Wuhan City's Hewan Forced Labor Camp
Dozens of Dafa practitioners are unconstitutionally detained at No.2 Division
of Wuhan City's Hewan Forced Labor Camp. Practitioners are tortured in various
ways and deprived of their basic rights. Because practitioner Yie Hao didn't say
"here" during roll call, his freedom was restricted and he was not
allowed to get in touch with other practitioners. Practitioner Zhao Hu was
confined to solitary confinement right after he was sent in. He was not allowed
to get in touch with anyone except six "information deliverers." Since
January 28, practitioner Liu Huasong has been on a hunger strike to protest the
persecution. Practitioners in the No.5 and the No.7 sections are under long-term
"strict restriction."
Li Jing, a warden in the No.1 Section used clown Gan Shengbo as his detective
to incite conflicts between "information deliverers" and practitioners
in order to limit practitioners' freedom. "Information deliverers"
were asked to note down practitioners' behaviors everyday, which was their
"homework." In addition, every "information deliverer" was
required to sign a contract of following the practitioners right on their heels,
no matter whether they were eating or using the restroom. If they didn't tightly
monitor practitioners, they would be threatened with punishment, lesser
detention term reduction or even extension of their detention term, which
severely violates the rights of the practitioners and ordinary detainees alike.
Li Jing also unreasonably asked the family members of the practitioners to
slander Falun Gong and Teacher when they visit. If their actions did not meet
with his requests, he won't allow them to visit.
Meals given to practitioners in "strict restriction" were not only
tiny portions, but also cold. Sometimes wardens put the meal in a refrigerator
to make it cold enough. Moreover, several thugs have beaten up almost every
practitioner in strict restriction.
Facing all these injustices, when someone protests, policeman Chen Yong said,
"There has been no such thing as "justice" ever since this labor
camp was built." An assistant group head said, "There is no principle
to follow here." How could these ill-mannered police "reeducate"
people and do a good job? Can the law executors of the Country do whatever they
want?
[Gansu Province] Comprehensive News from Gansu Province
During the Spring Festival, more than 80 banners reading, "Falun Dafa,"
appeared at a certain county in northwest China, which effectively suffocated
the evil.
A teacher named Fang, a practitioner from Jishishan County/Gansu Province,
was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor.
Policemen from Linxia Canton, Yongjing County, Linxia County, and Linxia City
of Gansu Province, often ransacked practitioners' houses. Policemen from Linxia
County especially behaved exactly like bandits. Those practitioners and their
family members whose houses have been ransacked: please expose and resist the
evil! All people with a sense of justice: please pay attention to what happened
there.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Internment of Two Dafa Practitioners in
the Tianhe District
At 4 o'clock [not sure whether it is 4 a.m. or 4 p.m.] on March 7,
policemen from Tianhe District's Xinghua Street Police Precinct kidnapped Falun
Dafa practitioners Ms. Zheng Meiling and Ms. Liu Xiaojing from their work unit
and home, respectively. These two practitioners were sent to the Chatou
Detention Center of Guangzhou City. Ms. Zheng's child, only in the third grade,
was left at home without care. As a result, the child had to transfer to another
school. It was the second time that Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaojing was
detained. The first time she was kidnapped and detained was from September 2001
to the Spring Festival of 2002.
[Hebei Province] Officials from the "610 Office" in a Certain City
Persecute Dafa Practitioners by Levying Heavy Fines and Implicating Work Unit
Leaders in Charge of Practitioners
Recently officials in a "610 Office" [An agency specifically
created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of
administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]
in a city of Hebei Province issued a document to each work unit. It was for
mentally and economically persecuting those practitioners who continued to go to
appeal in Beijing. Those who went to Beijing would be "fined" 40,000
Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China]
while 20,000 Yuan of that money would be turned in to upper level government
entities. Additionally, the leader of the work unit where the practitioner is
employed would also be implicated.
[Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Policemen Squeeze 150,000 Yuan from
Practitioners in Dongguang County, the Nation's Most Impoverished County
Policemen from Dongguang County/Heibei Province used any excuses to detain
practitioners and then extort money from them. If practitioners wanted to go
home, they must hand in money. Otherwise, they would be detained with unlimited
terms. The money the policemen extorted was from several hundred Yuan to ten
thousand Yuan [300 Yuan is the average monthly income in rural areas of China].
Besides extorting money, the policemen also received bribes. According to the
rough statistics, they have already extorted 150,000 Yuan. They also broke into
practitioners' homes to illegally take away valuable things such as an
automobile, VCR and a tape recorder. Most of the wealth they stole was without
following any legal procedures. Some practitioners' families only had unofficial
"receipts."
Dongguang County is the nation's most impoverished county. Some practitioners
had to borrow money to pay the heavy fines. In remote villages, even getting
enough to eat is a problem. But these policemen still squeezed money out of the
poor people and didn't care about their survival.
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] A List of Vile People in Shijiazhuang
City's Finance Bureau
Among all the governmental departments in Shijiazhuang City, the Finance
Bureau is the one where the largest numbers of practitioners are employed and it
is also the department where Falun Gong practitioners were most severely
persecuted. As there were many officials practicing Falun Gong before, the
environment of the Finance Bureau was comparatively righteous. However, since
the personnel started to persecute Falun Gong, the environment was deteriorating
daily. The staff members are fighting against each other for fame and gain.
Corruption, bribery and bilking are becoming more and more serious. After April
25, 1999, even before they received any orders from the higher authorities, the
personnel had started to set up brainwashing classes for practitioners who went
to Beijing to appeal and suspended the practitioners' jobs "for
inspection." After July 20, 1999, they became even more relentless. They
threatened and enticed practitioners. They detained practitioners over ten days
in a hostel. Some practitioners were even detained nearly a month. They
collaborated with the Political & Security Division of the Municipal Police
Department and other police stations, successively. They sentenced one
practitioner to a forced labor camp and deprived this person of his/her party
membership. They expelled a practitioner from his work. They dismissed and
demoted a practitioner from his post. They put one practitioner under
"inspection" while suspending his party membership and dismissed and
demoted him from his post. They unconstitutionally detained several
practitioners many times. They even appointed specific people to monitor each
practitioner. They harass practitioners whenever there is a holiday or a
so-called "sensitive day." Former directors Li Tianyin and Wu Runlin
slandered and defamed Falun Gong at all kinds of meetings numerous times. These
two also organized all the employees to watch TV, exhibitions and performances
that slandered Dafa. They handed out slandering materials and forced everybody
to show their attitude and instigated a group of people to hate another group of
people.

heart. He is good at persecuting people and is the chief commander for

[Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Policeman Sun Lizhong and Others Arrest a
77-Year-Old Woman Practitioner and Extort a Large Sum of Money
[Sanshui City, Guangdong Province] Guards at Sanshui Labor Camp Adopt Vicious
Means and Use Collaborators to Aggravate the Persecution
At the Sanshui Labor Camp, the persecution methods adopted by guards are
extremely vicious. They apply excruciatingly painful methods on those
practitioners who refused to give up cultivation. From time to time
practitioners are beaten, cursed, and punished. They are made to squat or be
exposed to the sun for a long time. Sometimes they even used nine electric
batons to shock one practitioner at the same time till the batteries run out.
They persecuted female practitioners by stripping off their clothes and hanging
them up on a basketball support where everybody in the labor camp can see them.
Some were hung several days consecutively. Some were dragged into a toilet after
their clothes were striped off, and then the evil policemen ordered drug addicts
to beat practitioners' private part with sticks until practitioners were covered
with bruises. Some were dragged on the ground. The scars on practitioners'
bodies can still be seen. Witnessing that those vicious means couldn't make
practitioners give up their cultivation, they started to confuse practitioners
with some hypocritical means, which did cheat some practitioners. They also
asked collaborators to persecute Dafa practitioners.
Among these collaborators who were at one time practitioners but had gone
over to the dark side are: Li Yan, Wang Yulan, Fu Xiuyun, Liu Qian, Li Xuesong,
Lin Kai, Wang Yuhong, Wang Qing, Zhang Haiqing, Wei Lingli, Guan Zhonghua, Lin
Zhonghuan, Ouyang Lini, Zhang Ke, Liu Heng. These people and some others are
backbones in persecuting Dafa. They behaved even more viciously than the
policemen. They tried both soft and hard tactics and carefully schemed many
conspiracies. They dealt with determined practitioners one by one and kept
indoctrinating them with evil enlightenment and attempted to take advantage of
practitioners' "gaps." They used the so-called "reverse
enlightenment," human sentimentality and attachments to comfort and destroy
the determination of Dafa practitioners. They also assaulted practitioners
according to their attachments and cheated practitioners by means of threatening
and spreading rumors. They besieged and isolated practitioners for a long time,
forbidding practitioners to speak and even following practitioners to the
toilet. Under this huge mental pressure, some practitioners suffered from mental
collapse, some can't recognize people and some lost control of their bowels and
bladders.
At present, some of these collaborators have been released and are still
doing things to damage Data. They are indoctrinating practitioners, who haven't
practiced for a long time, with evil enlightenment. We hope fellow practitioners
will be alert and send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces
behind these collaborators.
