[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] About Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liang Suyun's
Torture Death: Additional Information
On March 17, 2002, policemen in Fushun City tortured Dafa practitioner Ms.
Liang Suyun to death. At the time of her death she was handcuffed and there were
a lot of needle marks in her hands and feet. Abusive policemen claimed she
committed suicide by jumping off a building.
[Beijing] The Wife of a Municipal High Official Appeals in Tiananmen Square
It is said that the wife of a municipal high official who is a Falun Gong
practitioner recently went to appeal in Tiananmen Square to validate the
universal principle, "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance." Policemen in
Beijing arrested her. Then, local policemen went to Beijing to escort her back.
On the way back home she was released.
[Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Thugs Claim, "Get Several Iron Rods
Ready and Beat to Death Those Practitioners Who Clarify the Truth"
Recently, an official from Siping District claimed at a meeting in
Gongzhuling City, "Intense torture should be applied to Falun Gong
practitioners. No practitioners should be released, even though he is abused to
death in detention." He also set up nine supervising divisions to arrest
practitioners who are clarifying the truth. The policemen patrolled in the
streets, day and night. He even dispatched more people to man the night shift.
He told the policemen, "Prepare several iron rods. Beat those practitioners
who are clarifying the truth as hard as you can. Beat them to the point of
unconsciousness and then send them to the police precinct." In every
village group, four persons were appointed to be so-called "security
personnel." In each area where practitioners had clarified the truth, they
brought a lot of practitioners' photos for villagers to identify them. Around
the Spring Festival, several practitioners were forced to go live in exile to
avoid persecution. At least eight practitioners were put into detention centers
or custody centers. Obviously, the vicious suppressers were afraid of most
people getting to know the truth.
Hereby, all practitioners who see this news, please, send forth righteous
thoughts to eliminate the evil. All international organizations with a sense of
justice, please pay attention to this issue.
[Hunan Province] Brainwashing Class Scheme was Aborted due to Dafa
Practitioners' Firm Resistance
Before the Chinese New Year of 2002, in order to prevent determined Dafa
practitioners from going to appeal and distribute Dafa truth-clarifying
materials, officials from the "610 Office" [An agency specifically
created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of
administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]
in a city of Hunan Province arrested a dozen practitioners and forcibly put them
into a brainwashing class. In order to completely break through the old force's
arrangements, these practitioners decided to give up their attachments to life
and go through this tribulation together. They studied the Fa and did the
exercises as usual, and firmly resisted all arrangements made by the evil. They
didn't copy the prison rules and ignored the poisonous propaganda. They didn't
listen or read any of the propaganda. In the class, they recited Lunyu [the
forwarding statement in Falun Dafa books] and sent forth righteous thoughts
together. The powerful field of righteous thoughts didn't leave any place for
the evil to hide, so the class could not go on any further.
According to one of Teacher's articles, " Suggestion,"
practitioners compassionately clarified the truth and exposed the evil to the
employees from "610 Office" and also security personnel at the
brainwashing center, from the standpoint of work that Fa-rectification particles
should do, which had an effect. In order to separate these practitioners,
officials from the "610 Office" released several practitioners they
thought were "difficult to reform." But the rest of the practitioners
were still determined and the vicious officials still didn't get their way. In
the end, these practitioners were illegally detained for 15 days and they have
returned home safely. Each and every one of the practitioners who were sent into
the brainwashing class this time openly and dignifiedly walked out of the
brainwashing class. Therefore, the "610 Office's" well-prepared
brainwashing class had to be aborted.
[Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Illegal Internment of Two Practitioners
Recently, two practitioners named Tan and Liu from Zhuzhou City/Hunan
Province were illegally detained. We hope practitioners who read this news will
send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Officials at the Hankou Railway Station Extort
Money from Practitioners
Officials at the Hankou Railway Station used illegal means to obtain money.
They had someone look for Dafa practitioners in the railway station. A
middle-aged man waited in the police office. They used the excuse of verifying
identification papers to find and arrest practitioners. All of the detained
practitioners were sent to the security section on the fifth floor. Then,
officers named Bi, Zhang and Gao forcibly searched the practitioners and
confiscated their money and personal belongings. During the detention time, they
not only didn't give the practitioners anything to eat, but also beat and kicked
them. Officer Zhang even extorted money from people at the local police
department in charge of practitioners they detained. He told them, "You
should bring 1,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is average monthly income in urban area of
China] to get this person back. Otherwise I'll report this case to the
government." In order to avoid being reported to the government, officials
from the local police precincts had to give him 1,000 Yuan. Some even took him
out to eat for several meals.
[Guangzhou City, Guandong Province] Illegal Internment of Practitioner Ms. Li
Lifen
In January 2002, lawless policemen arrested practitioner Ms. Li Lifen from
Shahelongdong area of Guangzhou City when she went to a residential area to
rectify the Fa.
Cao Hui, vicious director of the Shahe Town Police Precinct in the Tianhe
District, persecuted practitioners many times. Fellow practitioners, please
eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts and save the detained practitioners
as soon as possible.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Officials in Some Schools Poison the
Minds of Innocent Students
Recently, officials of some schools in Harbin City, such as in the Xiangfang
District and Daoli District, organized students to clean the streets and tear
off advertisements and posters. It seemed that they asked students to clean the
streets, but actually they asked the children to take down Dafa truth-clarifying
materials. When they saw "Falun Dafa is good" and other posters, some
ignorant children went ahead and tore them off, while some others said,
"Those who tear these off will receive retribution." Officials in some
schools organized students to purchase political study materials that included
content of the "self-immolation" incident. These officials wanted to
instill lies and hatred into the heads of the innocent children.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Brutal Torture of Dafa Practitioners in
the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp
On the night of January 30, 2001, nearly 50 male policemen in the Wanjia
Forced Labor Camp came into cells and beat and kicked practitioners. They hit
the practitioners with electric batons, yanked their hair and forced
practitioners to stand barefoot in the hallway. Some practitioners were pushed
outside and forced to stand in the snow, clad only in underwear, when the
temperature was --30o C. On May 1, guards forced
practitioners to be brainwashed. The mouths of those practitioners who didn't
give in were sealed with wide tape and the practitioners were also not allowed
to sleep. Because practitioners determinedly refused to cooperate, some were
confined in solitary compartments. Then all practitioners went on a group hunger
strike. On May 22, because some guards wouldn't release practitioners whose
detention terms had already expired, practitioners staged another hunger strike.
However, they were forcibly dragged into the courtyard. Other practitioners
tried to stop the guards, but they were forcibly sent to the male prisoners
group. They were hung up by a rope from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Some practitioners
were forced to sit on a "torture stool" for more than 20 days. The
responsible person was Fei Hong.
Around the Chinese New Year, practitioners in No.12 Group who were forced to
give up cultivation awakened and published announcements in their group or on
Clearwisdom Net. Guards in Group 12 used various means to separate the newly
arrested practitioners and brainwashed practitioners away from determined
practitioners. Therefore, they transferred 12 determined practitioners to No. 7
Group. Practitioners in No.12 Group who suffered from scabies were cured without
any medication after they sent forth righteous thoughts repeatedly.
At present, practitioners Shang Yuqiu and He Miao are still being detained at
the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp Hospital and they are suffering unimaginable pain
and torture. We call on all people in society to help stop this brutality and
work for the immediate release of these two practitioners!
[Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Officials in a "610 Office"
Repeatedly Hold Brainwashing Classes and Make Use of Collaborators to Persecute
Practitioners
Since the beginning of 2001, officials in the "610 Office" of
Chenzhou City/Hunan Province have often and continuously held brainwashing
classes. They arrested practitioners from all surrounding counties and even
allocated a quota to every work unit. Some practitioners were entrapped to the
brainwashing class by the work unit leaders when they were working; some were
directly kidnapped into the class by police officers; and some were forcibly
sent to the brainwashing class just after they were released from a forced labor
camp. (Note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to
persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in
the Party and all other political and judiciary systems).
Officials in the "610 Office" also used several collaborators [former
Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture]
who were released from the Baimalong and Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camps in Hunan
Province after they "enlightened" along an evil path. These
collaborators aimed their tactics especially at the practitioners' attachments
to spread their poisoned "enlightenments." Some practitioners who
didn't study the Fa deeply were affected and wrote the "four
statements." [These statements declare that practitioners are sorry they
ever practiced Falun Dafa, and guarantee they will never to go to Beijing to
appeal for Dafa, will not associate with other Dafa practitioners and will give
up their faith in Dafa].

[Yilan County, Heilongjing Province] Several Cases of Persecution against
Dafa Practitioners
Practitioner Mr. Chen Tiefeng, 32 years old, lived in Yilan Town, Yilan
County, Heilongjiang Province. On July 22, 1999, he went to Harbin City to
appeal for Dafa. Policemen from Yilan County's Police Department escorted him
back and detained him for three days. Mr. Chen had to pay the fare and food
expenses and was additionally extorted 150 Yuan.
On January 16th, 2000 on the Chinese lunar calendar, when Mr. Chen Tiefeng
and some fellow practitioners were practicing outside, personnel from the Yilan
County's Police Department arrested and interrogated them for six hours. Because
Mr. Chen Tiefeng insisted on his belief, he was detained for 45 days. At the
detention center, guards instigated the prisoner heads of the cells, such as
murderers, criminals and so on, to brutally beat Dafa practitioners. After Mr.
Chen's family handed in 2,000 Yuan for a "fine" and 500 Yuan for food
expenses, Mr. Chen Tiefeng was released. The main persons who were responsible
for this case were Zhang Huanyou and Zhao Shijing.
On January 16, 2002, Ms. Fu Guiqin, a 51- year- old practitioner from Yilan
County, Heilongjiang Province was arrested and was illegally detained for one
month and extorted 3,000 Yuan, because she took part in group exercises. On June
16, 2000 she went to appeal in Beijing. Afterwards, she was illegally detained
45 days and extorted 2,000 Yuan. On December 29, 2001, thugs on a bus asked her
to defame Teacher and Dafa. Ms. Fu Guiqin refused, and then she was brought to a
police precinct. There, she was body-searched and also extorted 500 Yuan. After
that, she was sent to Harbin City's Wanjia Forced Labor Camp for one year. The
person who was responsible for this case was Long Deqing.
In March 2000, Ms. Ni Chunyan, a 39- year-old practitioner from Yilan County,
Heilongjiang Province, was illegally detained 15 days because of practicing
Falun Gong. After being extorted 2,150 Yuan, she was released. The main persons
who were responsible for this case were Zhang Huanyou and Long Deqing. In
November 2000, Ms. Ni was arrested. Because of her protest, she was detained and
force-fed. She was tortured to the point of suffering from edema all over her
body. On January 18, 2001, she was illegally sentenced to one year in Harbin
City's Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.
[Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Multiple Kidnappings of Practitioners at
the Hands of People from Jintie Police Precinct
At the end of October of last year, policemen from Jinzhou City's Jintie
Police Precinct went to a Dafa practitioner's home. They lashed two Dafa
practitioners' hands and feet together, carried them from the second floor to
the first floor, threw them onto the ground, then packed them into a vehicle and
drove them to the police station. A 20-year-old male Dafa practitioner said,
"I haven't committed any misdemeanor. I won't go to the police
station!" An abusive policeman kicked his chest and made him squat
immediately. As a result, the practitioner couldn't breathe for a long time.
Afterward, these two Dafa practitioners were sent to a detention center.
On January 6, 2002 on Chinese lunar calendar, when two female Dafa
practitioners walked on the street, lawless policemen from the Jintie Police
Precinct stopped them and forcibly packed them into a vehicle. One Dafa
practitioner was brutally beaten by the abusive policemen because she didn't
cooperate. Now these two Dafa practitioners are still in criminal detention.
Officials from this police precinct have already sent many Dafa practitioners to
the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

[Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Illegal Detention of Two Female Dafa
Practitioners
Since Ms. Yu Zhou, a 25-year-old practitioner, was released from Nanchang
City's Female Forced Labor Camp in 2001, she has always firmly practiced Falun
Gong and assisted Teacher to rectify the Fa. At the beginning of March 2002,
officers from Nanchang City's Police Department illegally arrested her from her
home. At present she is detained at Nanchang City's First Detention Center in
the Shaziling area. Her father is a police officer but was dismissed from his
post because of her detention. His situation is very bad.
Ms. Mao Maonuu , a 48- year-old practitioner, was illegally sentenced to one
year of imprisonment because of the "loudspeaker case on February 9."
In February this year, she was released because her detention term had expired.
Two days later, officers from Nanchang City's Police Department arrested her
again. It was said that they found some flyers at her home.
[Minhe County, Qinghai Province] Illegal Detention and Home Ransacking of
Dafa Practitioners
A vile person reported Dafa practitioner Mr. Xin Yunong from Minhe County,
Qinghai Province to police while Mr. Xin was clarifying the truth and
distributing Falun Dafa CDs to people. Until March 18, Mr. Xin had been detained
for 19 days in Minhe County's Police Department. His home was also ransacked.
It's said that since Dafa signs, flyers and CDs kept appearing incessantly in
the county, the vile persons were very frightened and they attempted to destroy
the source of the truth-clarifying materials. Dafa practitioners in Qinghai
Province, please, send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces
that attempt to destroy Dafa! Let's help our fellow practitioners walk out of
the devil's den as soon as possible.
[Qinghai Province] Huge Fa-Rectification Banner Appears in a Certain County
on "Qinghai Province's Falun Dafa Day"
March 6, 2002 is "Qinghai Province's Falun Dafa Day." On this day,
all Dafa practitioners in Qinghai Province clarified the truth and offered
salvation to people of all nationalities and with all available means, in a
comprehensive, thorough and refined way. On the morning of March 6, a
five-meter-long banner with red characters on yellow background appeared in a
certain county in Qinghai Province. The character read, "Celebrate Qinghai
Province's Falun Dafa Day." The scene greatly encouraged fellow
practitioners and frightened the evil forces.
[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Personnel from the Daqing Daily
Aid Evildoers to Do Evil and Persecute Veteran Senior Editors
On April 8, 2000, two Dafa practitioners from Daqing Daily and eight
other practitioners were tracked and monitored by local police when holding an
experience sharing conference. On April 12, these ten practitioners were all
arrested. Except for one practitioner who was released because s/he was over 70
years old, the other practitioners were all put into detention centers and
custodial centers and detained for 45 days. What's more, persons from the party
committee of the Daqing Daily refused to release the practitioners when
their term had expired, and they lawlessly extended the terms of the two
practitioners by another two months. As the two practitioners were very
determined in cultivation and refused to give up their beliefs, officials from
the Daqing Daily again refused to release the practitioner by the time
their additional two-month term was due. It was not until half a month later,
under the strong requests from the practitioners' family members, that they had
to release the practitioners.
On the second day after the two practitioners' arrest, the party committee
officials from the Daqing Daily made a decision to cancel the two Dafa
practitioners' party memberships, dismiss them from "the team of
journalists" and fire them from their posts, while keeping them two for
years of employment for "observation." One of the two practitioners is
a senior editor and the other one is a department director and holds a post of
"associate advanced professional."
In January 2002, a Dafa practitioner who works for the Daqing Daily
went to Beijing to appeal and was taken back. At the directive of Daqin Daily
party committee officials, the practitioner was sentenced to three years of
forced labor. The personnel also attempted to get the ID card from a Dafa
practitioner who didn't go to Beijing, but they were sternly refused. Personnel
from the party committee at Daqing Daily aided the evildoers to do evil,
and their act of persecuting Dafa practitioners has aroused public wrath.
