Chicago Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Candlelight Vigil and Hunger Strike in Front of Chinese Consulate (Photos)

March 30, 2002 (Clearwisdom.net) Changchun Dafa practitioners clarified the truth through the cable TV network at the risk of losing their lives. Afraid that the truth will spread, Jiang issued the order of "killing without pardon" and started a wave of terror in Changchun. To protest the persecution, dozens of Chicago Falun Gong practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate again on the night of March 27 until the early morning hours of the next day and held a 5-hour candlelight vigil in the cold. The practitioners sat on the snow, practiced the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. Besides displaying truth-clarifying poster boards and banners demanding end of the persecution, the practitioners put up a newly prepared banner reading "Stop the Arrests in Changchun and End the Persecution", "Falun Gong Practitioners Are Innocent" and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

At 10:00 p.m., Liu Sheng, a practitioner who had recently come from China read his hunger strike statement. He said in the statement, "The killing order places Falun Gong practitioners in China in danger of losing their lives at any time. I can fully appreciate the danger that they are in. I decided to hold this hunger strike to appeal to kind-hearted people to pay attention to the Jiang regime's brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners."
