March 30, 2002 Melbourne Dafa Practitioners (Clearwisdom.net) At 10 a.m. on March 29, 2002, Melbourne Dafa practitioners started a 36-hour hunger strike appeal in front of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne and called for the end of the Jiang regime's brutal persecution against Changchun Dafa practitioners.

Along the street, banners and poster boards calling for end of the persecution and support from Australian people were set up in eye-catching places. Over 20 practitioners participated in the hunger strike and dozens of others came to support.

At night, reporters from ABC (Australia Broadcasting Corporation) came to interview. A Western practitioner who was arrested and beaten in Tiananmen Square answered questions.
