Inside Story of the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Tianjin Female Forced Labor Camp

They have used all kinds of methods including blocking news, intense labor, and physical and mental tortures to ruthlessly persecute female Falun Gong practitioners.

In early November 1999, the first group of illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners arrived at the labor camp. The police from the labor camp handcuffed Lin Zhaoxia and forced her to run barefoot on a snowfield. Sun Xianqing's two hands were tied to a bed for 3 days and 3 nights, during which they did not allow her to sleep or go to the bathroom. In the chilly month of November, the policemen forced the practitioners to use bricks to grind the cement floor with water. Bloody cracks appeared all over their hands from the icy water. In January 2000, Pei Meiyu and Mu Xiangjie were forced to stand outside in the snow for 3 days and nights by the police. They gave them only one steamed bun each day. Policewoman Ko Na checked to see if they would give up every hour, but the practitioners refused. After 3 days, their hands and feet were frozen and became swollen, and then became festered so badly that they could not walk for one month. The handcuffs on Mu Xiangjie's hands cut into her flesh and caused her hands to bleed profusely. She was then hung up by police and later sent to a solitary cell at night. Supervisor Pan shocked practitioners' hands with electric batons because they repeatedly recited Lunyu [the foreword in Zhuan Falun]. They then shocked the practitioners' mouths with the electric batons. Team leader Liu hit practitioners' faces without any reason, causing cuts all over their faces. Cai Huiqin went on hunger strike for 3 months to protest the persecution. Police tied all four of her limbs to a bed and tortured her. Zhao Binhong demanded her right to do the exercises. As a result, the policemen made her sit on a bench for several days, refused to let her sleep and tried to force her to read slanderous material in order to brainwash her.

The long period of heavy labor made Falun Gong practitioners there suffer severely both mentally and physically. They were forced to pick through 70-80 pounds of beans each day. They had to work into the night if they could not make the quota. They got up at 5:00 a.m. and worked until 1 or 2 a.m. next day. When Lin Zhaoxia came back from work, they still forced her to do sewing work for Supervisor Pan. If she refused, he would punch and kick her. The practitioners were beaten to the point where their entire bodies seemed to be swollen, and their faces were distorted. Their feet were bloody and festering.

Duan Jingui had a high blood pressure of 220, but she was still forced to do heavy labor. Duang Fucen and Yang Jing were so tired that they could not straighten up their backs. After long periods of sewing, An Chunyun and Lin Zhaoxia's wrists were too swollen to do anything, and their hips were swollen and in great pain. Even so, the police still forced the practitioners to load and unload bags from trucks.

The food for Falun Gong practitioners was limited and poor. When there were visitors from outside, they would show them a nutritious food menu. The police was very afraid that the real situation inside the labor camp would be exposed. When Falun Gong practitioners wrote to the outside, they could not mention words like "tired." When they met with visitors, they were not allowed to pass information about the real situation to the outside. The police wanted to block news on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. On the other hand, they massively spread rumors and slanders, and conducted forced brainwashing and mental abuse.

After Lin Zhaoxia and Zhao Binhong were released from the illegal forced labor, the police resorted to an excuse to put them into a brainwashing class. After that, they were once again sentenced to forced labor. The policemen have employed many cruel means while trying to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief.
