[China] Falun Dafa Practitioners Salute all the Western Practitioners Who
Went to Tiananmen
February 20, 2002: Falun Dafa practitioners in Gansu Province and Shantou
City, of Guangdong Province, salute all the Western practitioners who went to
Tiananmen Square.
[China] Falun Dafa Practitioners Thoroughly Clarify the Truth to Every
Household in Every Village, Achieving Gratifying Results
In order to save more villagers who were deceived by the lies of the Jiang
regime, Falun Dafa practitioners in a small town in Northern China decided to
launch a project to clarify the truth in the entire town. The more than sixty
Falun Dafa practitioners in the town went in pairs to clarify the truth to the
villagers. Every time they arrived in a village, they would visit each family,
taking the opportunity of selling small items to clarify the truth about Falun
Dafa. During the process of clarifying the truth, one practitioner would do the
talking, while the other practitioner would send forth righteous thoughts to
eradicate the evil elements in the immediate environment. They achieved
gratifying results with this method. Over ninety percent of the villagers could
see clearly the truth of the self-immolation incident, and that the Fu Yibin
murder case was fabricated by the Jiang regime. They also understand that Falun
Gong is a good practice that offers salvation to the people and that it is wrong
for the Jiang regime to manipulate the Party into persecuting Falun Gong and
practitioners. The Falun Dafa practitioners in this town decided to visit all
the villages in the entire town around the Spring Festival to clarify the truth
about Falun Dafa to the numerous villagers.
[Beijing] Falun Dafa Practitioners in Qinghua University are Abducted from
Their Homes on New Year's Eve
1. Jia Xiaomei from Qinghua University was abducted and detained last
November for posting truth-clarifying materials. Now, she has been illegally
sentenced to forced labor. She is being tortured in a dispatch station at Daxing
County Forced Labor Camp and is not allowed to see her relatives.
2. The 14th Division of the Beijing Police Department abducted Wang Jiuchun,
the former Falun Dafa Assistant at Qinghua University, from her home on New
Year's Eve. Wang's relatives were told that she would first be detained for two
weeks and then the decision on how to deal with her would be made, based on
Wang's behavior.
The residential district within Qinghua University is divided into many
sections by iron fences. It looks like a maze. Every section is guarded 24 hours
by a guard who strictly interrogates every stranger. The western part is even
more heavily guarded. The Residential Committee and the local police in that
area have spread the word to the public that not a single Falun Gong flyer will
be allowed to enter this small district.

[China] A Government Department Assigns a Special Task, Forcing its
Subordinates to Fabricate Articles that Slander Falun Gong
According to the wife of a Chinese government official, her husband's higher
authorities gave him the special task of fabricating stories that slander Falun
Gong. There was no requirement to base these stories on any fact or evidence.
They were told to write anything they wanted, and were free to accuse Falun Gong
of any charge. According to the official's wife, her husband said at home,
"We are all really tired of this. They ask us to write such terrible stuff.
Day in and day out, we have to invent unbelievably fictitious stories that serve
only to deceive people. I don't know what the government is doing, but it is
really annoying."
We kindly offer this advice to the people who are forced to write articles
slandering Falun Dafa: Do not become the knife in the hand of the murderer,
deceiving hundreds of millions of kind-hearted Chinese people. Do not destroy
the people with your irresponsible articles. We solemnly warn those high-level
government officials who have ordered their subordinates to fabricate these
slanderous articles: The law of the universe does not allow such slander and
damage. What you are doing now is also not tolerated by the heavenly laws. Our
Teacher is benevolent. Again and again, he has given the common people the
opportunity to know the truth. Regardless of what you have done in the past, if
you can still establish righteous thoughts in your hearts today, then there is
still hope for you. Otherwise, all harm that you are doing to the Great Law of
the universe will be met with the ultimate retribution of losing your lives
forever.
[Anhui Province] Nanhu Forced Labor Camp Forces Falun Dafa Practitioners to
Dig Coal in a Dangerous Zone
Nanhu Forced Labor Camp, in Anhui Province, is a virtual hell that persecutes
Falun Dafa practitioners. Camp officials are fully aware that the working
conditions in this small coal mine are extremely dangerous. Yet, they still
illegally force the practitioners to dig coal there, with a ton per day quota
for each person. We hope that people from all walks of life will have this
matter brought to their attention, so they can help to expose the evil.
The No.1 Detention Center at Suzhou City, Anhui Province, has detained many
Falun Dafa practitioners. We sincerely hope that people will heed this matter
also, and expose the evil.
[Baiquan County, Heilongjiang Province] Female Falun Dafa Practitioners Zhang
Liqun and Li Jing are Again Illegally Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
In late December 2001, three female Falun Dafa practitioners, Zhang Liqun, Li
Jing and a practitioner with the surname of Yang, were reported to the police
while distributing truth-clarifying literature and clarifying the truth to local
people in the rural village. All three of them were illegally arrested at the
same time. Yang was released after being illegally detained in the detention
center for two weeks, while Zhang Liqun and Li Jing were sent directly to the
Baiquan Prison Detention Center. These two practitioners staunchly refused to
cooperate with the evil authorities. After being tortured and going on an
extended hunger strike, they had both become extremely weak. Li Jing, who had
scabies all over her body from the unhealthy and inhospitable living conditions,
could just barely walk, and had to support herself by carefully placing her
hands on the wall. Zhang Liqun had to be carried out of her cell. Even under
such dismal circumstances, the Baiquan County 610 Office still illegally
sentenced them to three years of forced labor. [Note: The "610
Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with
absolute powers over each level of administration in the Party and all other
political and judiciary systems.] On January 31, 2001, these two
practitioners were sent to the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar City. This
three-year sentence was the second illegal imprisonment for each of them.
Earlier, these two practitioners had been detained past their terms. Without
giving any "statement" [renouncing Falun Gong], however, they
had nobly walked out of the forced labor camp that time. The whereabouts of
these two practitioners are currently unknown.
[Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Illegally Arrest Wang Shixue;
His Relatives Do Not Cooperate and Are Also Punished
One day in early February, Wang Shixue, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Guoxing
Village, Gongzheng Township, Shuangcheng City was at home asleep. According to
eyewitnesses, five or six policemen entered his home and immediately began
confiscating the portrait of Teacher and Dafa books. Wang Shixue stopped them
from taking anything. Wang Shixue's family members also intervened and wouldn't
allow the police to take Wang Shixue away. The vicious police asked two more
police to come in order to assist them with the arrest. Seven or eight people
forcibly threw Wang Shixue, who was undressed, into a van, slammed the door on
his foot and drove away.
The following day, the police returned to arrest Wang Shixue's family members
on a charge of impeding the function of official duty. His family members
immediately left their home to avoid illegal arrest and persecution. People
discussed the event and concluded that, "The police charged Wang Shixue's
family members of impeding the function of official duty in order to
"justify" a "fine" of at least 5,000 Yuan [The average
monthly salary of an urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. This society is really
hopeless!"
[Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners in Fuyu Forced Labor Camp Hunger Strike
to Protest the Long-Term Persecution
Fuyu Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province persecutes Dafa
practitioners. Practitioners aren't given enough food to eat for long periods of
time and are forced to accept brainwashing. Steadfast practitioners are not
allowed to meet with their visiting family members. In order to survive, they
had no choice but to go on a hunger strike to protest. These practitioners'
lives are in great danger.
We urgently appeal to all governments, all the world's kind-hearted people
and Dafa practitioners to offer your support to Falun Gong and stop the murder
of Falun Gong practitioners.
[China] Falun Dafa Practitioner Xiaowu Is Arrested Before the Spring
Festival; Police Loot His Home
On February 9, the local police illegally ransacked Dafa practitioner
Xiaowu's (an assumed name) home, and then took him away. Xiaowu, a-33-year-old
single man, lived with his retired father. They depended on each other for most
things. Their lifestyle was very simple and their monthly income was less than
300 Yuan. The police illegally confiscated a personal computer and a printer,
the only valuable property in the home. They also confiscated 5,000 Yuan in cash
and bank deposit books with a recorded total of 70,000 Yuan, which was to be
used toward his marriage and supporting his aged father. It was all the money
and property that Xiaowu had. Currently, his father cannot even support his most
basic needs. After hearing about his situation, fellow practitioners collected
500 Yuan and gave it to Xiaowu's father. They hoped that he would enjoy the New
Year. However, this unyielding father shook his head and didn't accept the
money.
Currently, Xiaowu and several other Dafa practitioners are all being detained
at an unconfirmed location. Their family members are not allowed to visit them.
In addition, Xiaowu's father was forced to pay 100 Yuan a day for so-called
"meal expenses!"
[Linqu County, Shandong Province] "610 Office" in Weifang City
Loots Money and Property; Practitioner Breaks Out of Tight Encirclement With
Righteous Thoughts
Linqu County's "610 Office, headed by Liu Jianguo, Ma and Li
Xingwu set up a team especially for arresting, watching and detaining Falun Gong
practitioners. From December 2001 through January 2002, the team has illegally
abducted and arrested about 20 Dafa practitioners. They have illegally ransacked
the practitioners' homes, looted their money and property and illegally extorted
cash from the family members of Dafa practitioners.
In June 2001, Liu, Ma , Yin (Head of the County's Police Department) and
officials from the County Government Police Station illegally broke into and
ransacked the home of a Dafa practitioner. They confiscated a motorcycle worth
5,000 Yuan, a color television, a VCD player, an electric fan and four small
cassette players, among other things. The greedy police even took an old
umbrella, which had been used for several years, and a notebook which cost only
1 Yuan. To get inside the room, they pried open the door and smashed open the
window. Upon entering, they rummaged through everything inside and looted all
the Dafa practitioner's money and property.
During this time, another Dafa practitioner, who had just escaped from the
"610 Office", came to visit the home of this practitioner. As a
result, the vicious police tried to illegally abduct him again and also
ransacked his home. While the police were turning his place inside out, they had
parked three police vehicles outside and left over 10 more people to encircle
the building. With Teacher's protection, the practitioner silently recited the
Fa-rectification verse with righteous thoughts and successfully walked out of
his home without being taken away by the police. He headed south while the
vicious people ran north to catch him. Currently, this Dafa practitioner's
entire family, including a pregnant woman close to giving birth, have all been
forced to become homeless in order to avoid illegal arrest and persecution.
[Nanhu, Anhui Province] Teams 5 and 6 in Nanhu, Anhui Province Force Falun
Dafa Practitioners into Heavy Labor
Teams 5 and 6 in Nanhu, Anhui Province are so extremely vicious that they
wanted to hold a brainwashing class for the family members of practitioners.
More than 100 practitioners are being detained in this class where they are
forced to accept brainwashing and "expose and criticize" Falun Dafa.
If they do not comply, they are sent to do heavy labor. Some practitioners'
state of cultivation is not good because they have not been able to study the Fa
for a long period of time. Some of the steadfast Dafa practitioners are punished
by being forced to do heavy labor. We hope Anhui fellow practitioners will send
forth righteous thoughts at set times to eliminate the remaining evil.
[Beijing] Police Brutally Beat Dafa Practitioners in Tiananmen Square
Several of us went to Beijing to appeal, safeguard and rectify the Fa. On
January 1, 2001, there were several dozen police vehicles, several hundred
uniformed police and several hundred plainclothes secret agents stationed in
front of Tiananmen. We witnessed how they arrested and beat Dafa practitioners.
Among us, the oldest practitioner was over 80 years old, and the youngest was
only 7 or 8 years old. Those of us who went were scientists, professors, Party
members, government officials, teachers and soldiers. One practitioner unfurled
a banner that read "Falun Dafa is good" and was beaten by the swarming
police. The police stepped on the practitioner, holding him down with his heavy
boots, but the practitioner never cried out. A scholarly female practitioner
shouted, "Falun Dafa is Good" and was then beaten by a group of police
until she fell to the ground. A male practitioner held a banner with the words
"Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa" written on it, and a policeman ran to
beat him on the head with a baton. I took a young practitioner and escorted him
out of the square to return home. I was later arrested by local police. After
being detained for two months, I was sentenced to 1 year of forced labor.
[China] The Status of Human Rights in China Today: Unwarranted and Illegal
House Arrest
Before I practiced Falun Dafa, I was plagued with a variety of diseases that
made me feel death might be better than life. I was also a man who always won
and never suffered losses (if someone hit me once, I would hit him twice.) It
was Falun Dafa that changed my character. It transformed me into a person who
has consideration for others and it also returned my health, making me a vibrant
man again.
However, this noble practice is cruelly persecuted by Jiang. I am strictly
monitored by my work unit merely because I practice Falun Gong. Whenever I go
outdoors, someone follows me. During the winter holiday, my nephew came to my
home to visit. One day he went to a classmate's home to celebrate his birthday,
but never returned. It had been more than ten days and I still had not received
any news about him. I was very worried and reported the situation to my
workplace, but they not only forbade me to look for him, they increased the
persecution against me. I was even forbidden from stepping out of my own house,
even though I am a citizen and should have my personal freedom. Why doesn't
anybody question such unlawful violations which severely infringe on human
rights?
[Sichuan Province] The Suffering of Two Sisters In Deyang Detention Center
Wan Gurong and Wan Gufen, two sisters and Falun Dafa practitioners, went to
Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa, but they were escorted back and
illegally detained in the local detention center. One month later, they were
transferred to another detention center at the Lianglukou Police Station, where
false evidence against them was fabricated so that the persecution against them
could be escalated.
Shifang Detention Center deceived Wan Gurong's husband by telling him that he
needed to pay 300 Yuan in order to visit his wife. In the detention center, Wan
Gufen was also subjected to extortion of 100 Yuan. After three days, the two
sisters were sent to a forced labor camp. Wan Gurong's husband was once again
deceived and threatened by police who told him, "In addition to the fifteen
day detention, we will send her to the labor camp in the mountains. Even if she
dies, we will still require you to pay additional money." Both sisters have
been sentenced to labor camp: Wan Gurong is sentenced to one and a half years,
and Wan Gufen was sentenced to one year.
[China] Even Threat of Bloodshed and Decapitation Cannot Force Falun Dafa
Practitioners to Give Up Their Belief!
Our town lies in a remote mountain area. After Falun Dafa spread to our town,
more than thirty people came to learn. In December 2000, several fellow
practitioners and I went to Beijing to safeguard Falun Dafa, but we were
arrested. The police interrogated and beat us. They used many different methods
of torture in an attempt to make us give up or abuse Falun Dafa and Teacher.
They said they would release us instantly if we agreed to do things that defamed
Falun Dafa. We all said, "Even if you shoot us to death we will remain firm
in our belief of Falun Dafa and continue to cultivate."
One policeman said, "You are really mistaken. We can chop off your head,
you can bleed to death, but you maintain that you will not give up Falun Dafa?"
The Police sent us to a detention center where we remained for several months.
During this period, we were interrogated every day, but they still did not get
us to waver from our firm resolve. Finally, the police sent me to a forced labor
camp and sentenced me to over one year. The other practitioners who were not
sent to labor camps were sent to "brainwashing classes." There were
all kinds of punishments there: "tiger bench", "duck
floating", "short stick beating", hanging up and beating, burning
with dog-end [these are types of severe and brutal torture which detainees

Although the authorities were extremely fierce and tortured the
practitioners, they never complained of the suffering they were forced to endure
and they never gave up their belief and commitment to Falun Dafa. Now that we
have regained our freedom, we will do the best we can.
