Chinese Embassy in Denmark Rejects a Falun Gong Practitioner's Visa to China Despite Her Father Being Critically ill

(ClearWisdom.Net) On January 31, 2002, I suddenly received a phone call from my family in China. My father was admitted into hospital and diagnosed with end-stage lung cancer. My family received a hospital notice reporting that my father was in critical condition.

I felt very sad upon hearing this news. My father is eighty-six years old. I have been living overseas for all these years and could not take care of him personally. If I could not go back soon enough, I was afraid that I would not be able to see him before he dies. How could I face my parents who had suffered so many hardships in order to nurture me!

Unexpectedly, the Chinese embassy in Denmark refused to give me a visa, the reason being that I am a Falun Gong practitioner.

Respecting and caring for elderly parents is a Chinese tradition. Every Chinese person knows that. Unfortunately the Chinese embassy has disregarded this basic human request. As far as they are concerned, persecuting Falun Gong is more important than anything else.

I would not mention here how the Chinese government is treating Falun Gong practitioners in China. Even I, a woman with no ill intent or power to harm anyone, am denied entrance to China. Isn't this living proof of the persecution?

I would like to ask whether the Chinese embassy still had a conscience when it made a decision like this? Who does not have parents? Isn't the Chinese government damaging its citizens when a Chinese citizen in critical condition cannot meet his own daughter? A government disregards its citizen's basic human request and relentlessly violates human rights. Isn't this government damaging the country's benefits and image?

This persecution should not have happened. There is nothing wrong with believing in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." No matter what happens, it will not shake my belief. Ironically, I learned about Falun Gong after July 20, 1999, when the Jiang regime started to persecute Falun Gong. I then read Zhuan Falun on the Internet. I was deeply shaken by "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and captured by the universal principle taught in Falun Dafa. Just as Teacher said, "Whenever the evil uses bad people to damage us, it is actually helping us to spread the Fa." Kind Chinese people, the persecution going on in China is not irrelevant to you. It may happen to you tomorrow. If we do not resist this persecution from the bottom of our hearts, we are actually encouraging the evil. In order to prevent such things from happening to more people and more families, I can't keep silent. Who is damaging families? Who is violating human rights? The people will decide for themselves.
