According to overseas Chinese media reports on March 7^th, the meeting of China's National People's Congress (NPC) commenced on March 5^th. On the evening of the same day, eight channels on Changchun's cable television network suddenly broadcasted Falun Gong informational programs, which lasted 40-50 minutes.

The incident occurred at around 8 PM when several hundred thousand households were watching regular programs, including movies, news and financial shows. Suddenly, the content changed to a Falun Gong informational program and it continued uninterrupted for 40-50 minutes. According to media reports, this incident shocked Zhongnanhai, the Party headquarters in Beijing, and especially those representatives from Jilin Province or Changchun City who were attending the Congresses.

The reports say the Changchun City Cable Television Network Company was formerly the Changchun Cable Television Station, under the jurisdiction of the Changchun City Television Broadcasting Bureau. It is the cable television station in Changchun with the widest coverage. Currently the network has 300,000 subscribers and reaches over one million viewers.

Changchun is the place where Falun Gong originated and is also the first city in which Falun Dafa practitioners in China established a "Falun Dafa Day" during the brutal persecution. During the time that the meeting of the NPC was being held, the righteous and brave people brought truth to an audience of over a million viewers through the cable network, which, for all kind-hearted people is such a remarkable and creative act!

The viewers in Changchun witnessed for the first time the peacefulness and beauty of Falun Gong and its ever-growing presence in the world. At the same time, people witnessed how Jiang Zemin and his regime cruelly torture Falun Gong practitioners. We believe that people's hearts were deeply moved. Jiang and his regime always use controlled media to slander Falun Gong and deceive people who have not learned the truth. The broadcasting of the truth about Falun Gong through cable TV was a heavy blow to the vicious regime. When an evil political power survives on lies, it will perish on its own once its lies and crimes are exposed in broad daylight.

In the civilized Western societies, some countries (such as the U.S.) do not allow the governments to have their own TV stations or any other forms of media. Private companies run all the media. The public duty of media is to monitor and critique the government. But under Jiang Zemin's totalitarian control in China, all media are run by Jiang's regime. The media cannot fulfill its monitoring duty, and more often than not become brainwashing tools to mislead people. When Jiang's regime hammers people with lies during prime time on TV day after day, isn't this brainwashing? During the political persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the name of the government, all media have been used to slander Falun Gong, while no one has been able to hear any voices from Falun Gong practitioners in the media. This fact reveals the extreme guilt of the ruler, and just how scared he is about the truth being spread.

The evil, one-sided media blockade is cracking. After Jiang Zemin and his regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Falun Gong practitioners continuously conducted large-scale appeals at Tiananmen Square, which revealed the truth of the persecution and made it the focal point of the world. Following these efforts, Falun Dafa practitioners started to clarify the truth widely all over the country, posting banners and flyers, passing out booklets and CDs on every corner, and to every family in the country. Falun Gong truth broadcasting has occurred in many places. The people with righteous minds are also quietly helping to spread the truth through all different means, and protecting the practitioners who bring the truth-clarifying materials to the public.

Today, the videos that were carefully produced by Falun Gong practitioners have been viewed by an audience of over a million people, and this audience will pass on the truth to their friends and family members. The one-sided media of Jiang's regime fabricates bloody, ill-bred lies which are full of loopholes. In contrast, the content of Falun Gong videos are rational and convincing, and produced in a graceful and rational style. We believe that viewers in Changchun are waiting to watch more programs about the truth of Falun Gong, and that audiences in other regions of China are also eager to see the magnificence of Falun Gong.
