(Clearwisdom.net) On December 19, 2001, three Falun Dafa practitioners in Shijiazhuang City were arrested after the police ransacked their homes. First, one policeman from the Xinghua Street Police Station who had beaten Falun Dafa practitioner Zuo Zhigang to death disguised himself as the gas repairman. Then, 5 or 6 plainclothes police rushed in to search the rooms. They took away all Falun Dafa books and materials and forcibly took the practitioners to the police station.

At the police station the three practitioners refused to tell their names and addresses and went on a hunger strike to protest their illegal arrest. They were forced to have their pictures taken and were beaten. Just before one of the practitioners was called for interrogation, she was knocked down to the ground twice. When the practitioner criticized the policemen and told them that they were knowingly violating the law, the policemen denied it, saying, "Who beat people, who saw it?" One practitioner declared that she was pregnant, but the policemen still handcuffed her to the stairs in the basement along with the other two practitioners. At night, with the icy wind piercing to the bones, they were very cold and hungry. The three practitioners exchanged cultivation experiences together, recited "Hong Yin", and clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to all the people who came into contact with them. On December 27, the practitioner who was pregnant was sent to the No.1 Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City. She told the officials there that she was pregnant. As this was confirmed by a physical examination, the detention center refused to accept her. But the police station did not report this, and after she was brought back, they still illegally detained her in the dark and damp basement with not even a chair to sit on. After she went on a hunger strike for ten days, this practitioner was finally taken home by her relatives.

The other two Falun Dafa practitioners went on a hunger strike for 7 days. They were given a number and sent to the No.1 Detention Center in Shijiazhuang City where they remain. Some kindhearted people reminded the police, "You cannot detain people forever," but policeman Meng Linhai from the Xinghua Street Police Station said, "No problem, just tell people this case is still under investigation. Just detain them, it doesn't matter if it's half a year or one year!"
