The persecutors in Jilin Province recently started to force everyone working at provincial government offices to write "guarantee letters," including people who do not practice Falun Gong. The persecutors require everyone to guarantee (for themselves and their family members) that they will not cultivate or believe in Dafa.

It is believed that the perpetrators in Changchun will probably put some of the arrested Dafa practitioners on trial. In Luyuan District alone, the perpetrators plan to press charges against 10 practitioners and sentence them to prison or forced labor camps.

The police at Qingming Street Police Station (Chief: Wang Wei) in Nanguan District have arrested over 200 practitioners in the past month.

Recently, the Intermediate People's Court illegally tried some practitioners. The persecutors arrested more than 30 practitioners when they went to the court to clarify the truth.

There are a total of 9 practitioners illegally detained at Qiliqiao Detention Center in Bozhou City, Anhui Province. Among them, 7 female practitioners went on a hunger strike on March 24, 2002, in protest. They have been fasting for over 12 days. The 7 practitioners include: Liang Minglan, Shi Shuzhen, Zhou Li. Names of the other 4 practitioners are still unknown. We urgently call for the attention of international society.

The recent great deed of clarifying the truth to people using the cable TV network in Changchun shocked Jiang. Being very scared, he began enforcing even worse measures against the practitioners. The persecutors have exhausted manpower and resources by dispatching police from Jilin Province to Liaoning Province to arrest the practitioners who left their homes to avoid the persecution. In one case, the perpetrators illegally detained the family members of a practitioner for 7 hours trying to extort information about the practitioner all the while. The police also kept harassing the family members and relatives of practitioners, and lied to them by saying that they were from the local community offices. The practitioners saw through their tricks and did not cooperate with them. Affected by the powerful righteous thoughts of the practitioners, the police left without accomplishing anything.

Zhang Yali is a retired worker of Lingyuan Steel Cooperative. Because Zhang firmly cultivates Dafa, the Public Security Division of Lingyuan Steel Cooperative illegally arrested her on July 30, 2001 from her home. The persecutors transferred her to Mohudian Police Station, and then to the No. 1 Detention Center of Lingyuan City. After being held there for several months, Zhang was transferred to the No. 2 Detention Center of Lingyuan City, where she is still being held. The police did not press any charges against Zhang Yali; yet she has been detained for 8 months.

The Chengdu City Police launched a large-scale abduction of practitioners on the nights of February 2 through 4. They put the practitioners in several newly-built prisons like Pixian Prison and Pujiang Prison. The practitioners have not been released yet.

The worst case is the wicked police from Wuhou Police Station breaking into and ransacking some practitioner's homes, and abducting the following people:

1. Fang Hui (an instructor at Sichuan University) 2. Wang Haibo (a Ph D Student at Sichuan University) 3. Cui Yongchang (a professor at Sichuan University) 4. Ni Yuehua. The following practitioners were also illegally arrested or kidnapped: 5. Li Yuanzhen (an associate professor at the Traditional Chinese Medicine University of Chengdu) 6. Zhu Xuezhi (a senior engineer at Hydro-electricity Design Institute) 7. Li Bingnan (a senior engineer) 8. Li Zhijie (a manager at Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Plant) 9. Luo Suyun 10. Lai Suqing. Dozens more were also arrested. The perpetrators' "reason" for arresting these practitioners was because the practitioners firmly cultivate Dafa.

We call for all the kind people of the world to help stop the crimes and help get the illegally detained practitioners released.

Right before the Spring Festival of 2002, some government officials of Mengjia Town (Jingyang District, Deyang City) actively participated in persecuting Dafa practitioners in order to secure their positions. Under pressure from their superiors and the local "610" Office [Note: The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], the perpetrators detained all the practitioners in the town at a brainwashing class. Over 40 practitioners were arrested. There are still 9 practitioners under detention at the town's glass plant.

The town government officials inhumanly tortured the practitioners and tried to extort money from their family members. The poor family members could not afford the 5,000 Yuan [The average monthly salary of an urban worker in China is about 500 Yuan, 200 Yuan for a rural worker.] "bail," yet an official said viciously, "It is easy to get money from the practitioners, just press them hard." Another official also said, "We should be paid for the extra work of detaining you."

The practitioners under detention think that they should not cooperate with the evil persecution whether they have money or not. Ten more practitioners have been detained since the end of last year. They are: Jiang Yan, Jian Yicong, Jiang Qixing, Zhou Yuzhen, Wu Jihua, Wang Mingyou, Ding Quanzhen, He Jikang, Huang Qianfang, and He Yunan.

Right before the 2002 Spring Festival, some local government officials and the police station in Shuyuan Town (Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province) relentlessly arrested Dafa practitioners day and night in order to get a bonus from Jiang.

For sending out two letters that clarified the truth of Dafa during the time of the Spring Festival in 2001, practitioner Li Xiuqin (female, around 60) lost 10,000 Yuan through extortion and was pressured to write a "guarantee letter." Because she refused to cooperate with the persecution, Li was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution. Li's father is almost 80. Seeing that his 60-year-old daughter could not even come home for the Spring Festival, the old man was very worried and became sick. On New Year's Eve (Chinese new year), Li's father started passing blood in his stool.

On December 31, some police from Shuyuan Town Police Station found Li Xiuqin while she was visiting a friend. Although they were not sure of Li's identity, the police threw Li into the No.2 Detention Center (of Hegang City). Inside the detention center, the guards did not allow Li to practice the movements, brutally tortured her with instruments, and put her in handcuffs and shackles. Li went on a hunger strike to protest; so the perpetrators forcefully fed her. During this time, Li suffered many heart attacks and she was sent to the hospital emergency room for treatment. Even while she was in the hospital, Shuyuan Town Police Station and Dongshan Police Sub-department had three guards watching her 24 hours a day.

On January 20, 2002, Li escaped from the hospital with help from Teacher and her strong righteous thoughts. Knowing that Li would likely go home to see her old father, the police lived in the old man's home for 6 days during the 2002 Spring Festival. During that time, they hid near the home of Li's father around the clock, ignoring the worries and the desperate situation of the old man. The police also searched for Li in the homes of her relatives and students.

Around noon on March 27, 2002, 10 police guards from Nanshan Police Sub-department Broke into the home of Dafa practitioner Cui Jinlan (female, around 60). Headed by officer Yang Fengyou, the perpetrators pulled Cui's hair and slapped her face while trying to take her away (Cui was sending forth righteous thoughts, sitting on her bed). Cui's husband stepped forward and argued with them, which made Yang act even wilder. He beat and cursed like crazy. While Cui was shouting "Falun Dafa is indeed good," Yang led the other perpetrators to throw her into a police car, while pulling her hair and beating her at the same time. The perpetrators then illegally ransacked Cui's home, then they arrested Cui's husband. At Nanshan Police Sub-department, the perpetrators interrogated the old couple and tortured them until after 10 PM. Using a detention warrant without Cui's signature, they sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center of Hegang City. Cui's husband was released so that he could take care of his teenage granddaughter, who had been left home by herself.

On March 25, 2002, female practitioner Tian Guiying and Wang Shuqing were also arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials. The perpetrators illegally ransacked their homes and detained them at the No. 2 Detention Center of Hegang City.

The 48-year-old female Dafa practitioner Yang Chongyu was an officer at the Property Tax Department of Wenjiang County. Yang went to Beijing to validate Dafa in October 2001. The perpetrators arrested her, sent her back, and detained her for about a month. Yang was then transferred to a psychiatric hospital in Wanchun Town, Wenjiang County, where persecutors gave her medicine by force and injected her with many kinds of tranquilizers. Two practitioners from Wenjiang County went to visit Yang Chongyu in the hospital, and they saw an instrument that can force people to sleep. Every night, the nurses only have to push the instrument against the top of the patients' heads three times to make them go to sleep. For Yang, the instrument has to be used over 10 times before she feels sleepy. The instrument acutely stimulates one's nervous system, and using it on people is inhuman. Besides the local police, Li Liang, the Director of the Wenjiang County Property Tax Department, also participated in the persecution of Yang. When Yang's husband Lu Baoyu went to visit her at the hospital, Li Liang said to Yang, "if you write a guarantee of 'not practicing,' we will immediately send you back home." Zeng Yunxiu, the head of the psychiatric hospital, also participated in persecuting Yang Chongyu.

Li Zhijie is a female practitioner, 58 years old. She is a retired official from the Chengdu City Seamless Steel Tube Plant. Li has been practicing Falun Gong since 1997.

In November and December 1999, Li Zhijie went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. The police illegally arrested her and detained her for 60 days before they sentenced her to 1 year in a forced labor camp (her term was served outside the labor camp).

Around midnight on February 2, 6 people from Niushikou Police Station (Jinjiang District Police Sub-department, Chengdu City) and Niushikou Community Office deceived Li's daughter into opening the door and arrested Li from her bed. They put Li into Chengdu City Detention Center, where she was detained for 30 days. On the day she was to be released, the perpetrators transferred her to another detention center in the city and held her for 15 days.

The whole family of Zhong Fangqiong practices Falun Gong. Zhong has been illegally detained 14 times and sent to a forced labor camp for 15 months. Right now, Zhong's freedom is still restricted.

Practitioner Zheng Youmei's family are also all practitioners. The perpetrators detained Zheng many times before illegally sentencing her to 2 years in a forced labor camp. Recently, the perpetrators forced Zheng into the brainwashing classes in Wuhou District, Chengdu City. Zheng has been on a hunger strike for 20 days or so; the perpetrators have transferred her to a hospital, where she has been force-fed.

Female practitioner Liu Jian was a teacher at the No. 13 Middle School of Chengdu City. The police illegally arrested Liu on February 10, 2002 at a farmer's market, and she is still under detention now.

Recently, the perpetrators in Baicheng region started another round of persecuting Dafa practitioners under the direction of Baicheng "610" Office. They wanted to sentence the practitioners arrested "heavily and quickly." It is said that the round of arrests will last until June 10. By now, many truth-clarifying material sites have been destroyed and many practitioners have been arrested. The massive search for practitioners is still going on: the police are hiding near all the Internet cafes, residential buildings, and streets.

The "610" Office also slanders Falun Gong and deceives people, putting hatred of Falun Gong into the minds of many people.

There was an article on Clearwisdom.net (Chinese) about female practitioner Zhao Guiying's arrest on July 19, 2001. It has been 8 months since then, and we don't know whether she is still alive. Some said that Zhao refused to cooperate with the evil. No one was allowed to visit her, and knows where she is being held. Zhao Guiying's mother is over 80 and needs someone to take care of her. We hope that all practitioners who see this message will send forth righteous thoughts and help to get Zhao released.

The practitioners in Hainan Province Forced Labor Camps are under tremendous persecution. Some labor camps have changed their methods of persecution. Now they order the other inmates to torture the practitioners. In Hainan Province Female Forced Labor Camp, headman Zhou Hui beat practitioners Wu Guoyu, Lin Hongping, and Wu Shuping until they were half-dead. The three practitioners were then transferred to a detention center to "rest" before they were taken back for another round of torture. The director of Qiongshan City "610" Office teamed up with He Tingxiong (Vice Chief of Qiongshan City Police Department) in persecuting the local practitioners. Guard Zeng Chong at a forced labor camp forces all visitors to curse Teacher and Dafa.

In Qiongshan City, He Tingxiong, Wang Pijie, and Zhou Bingmin were ordered to arrest practitioner couple Sun Yingqin and Shi Jinyu. Sun's parents (68-year-old Sun Gaohong and his wife) and teenage son were left at home in despair. The perpetrators also arrested Yuan Xiuli and Sun Huifen (couple), leaving their old mother and two young girls (primary school students) in a desperate situation.

On the evening of March 5, 2002, the police illegally arrested practitioner Cai Aiqiong and ransacked her home. On March 7, three other practitioners were arrested. A few days after that, the police searched the home of practitioner Cen Yucheng's parents and took away two pictures of Cen Yucheng. We hope that Cen can be informed of the potential danger.

A practitioner's colleague told us that the police often ransack the practitioner's home. On the night of March 8, 10 police guards pounded on the door again. When they saw no one opening the door, the police walked to the back of the house and pried the window open. The incident had a big impact on the people at the practitioner's work unit. People were surprised to see the police acting like common robbers, and violating the law.

The police guards that pried open the window include Lin Youmei and Chen Li from Chengxi Police Station in Haikou City.

According to inside news from Haikou City Police Department, a Dafa banner was hung on a crossing bridge. The police imposed martial law on the whole city and arrested more than 20 practitioners.
