(Clearwisdom.net) 1. [Siping City, Jilin Province] The Yitong County Public Security Bureau
Escalates the Persecution and asks everybody to "Pass a Test"
Evil runs rampant in Siping City, Jilin Province. Just before the "Two
Conferences" [People's Congress and The Political Consultation
Conference held in March 2002,] about five hundred Falun Dafa practitioners
were arrested. Because the cable TV network in Changchun City broadcasted the
truth, the Siping City Police are afraid. About one week ago, they asked
everybody one to "pass a test," even the everyday people. The heads of
the work units talked with the people who do not practice Falun Gong, and asking
them to write letters guaranteeing that they would never take up the practice of
Falun Gong. One person who was a non-practitioner, but who had read and kept the
Falun Dafa material, was reported to the police and subsequently arrested. Mayor Li Zhenguo and the Secretary of the City Party Committee, Ma Zhenqing,
are chiefly responsible for the oppressive climate in Siping City. The evil authorities in Jilin Province have changed their tack. They
discovered some of the peoples' fear, and are utilizing new methods of
slandering Falun Dafa practitioners, in order to arouse people's fear and hatred
of Falun Dafa practitioners. They also offered a huge reward to make the people
who are enticed by mercenary views to report the Falun Dafa practitioners. For
example, the Shuangyang District of Changchun City spread rumors that the
practitioners will ignite themselves with natural gas. Fusong County of Jilin
Province slandered Falun Dafa by saying that practitioners would kill the
children, spread poison, commit arson, etc. Some villages and towns in Yitong County, of Jilin Province, held meetings in
which they publicly offered a reward of 10,000 yuan RMB [500 yuan is the average
monthly salary of an urban worker] for information leading to the arrest of
Falun Dafa practitioners who post truth-clarifying materials. Yitong County Public Security Bureau recently worked out the so-called
"Severe Strike for 100 Days [a 100-day campaign in which police suppress
Falun Gong with all the means they can come up with]," according to Luo
Gan's [the second high-rank official in Chinese government next to President
Jiang who persecutes Falun Gong] directive, mainly targeting Falun Dafa
practitioners. Now, the Yitong Detention Center is illegally detaining several
dozen Falun Dafa practitioners. They are so afraid of even one practitioner
clarifying the truth, that they will fabricate evidence and bring false charges,
in order to send all suspected practitioners to forced labor camps. The Zhongshan District Public Security Bureau arrested Falun Dafa
practitioner Li Zongmin in Dalian City around January 10, 2002. He was locked in
the basement for six days, hung up by handcuffs and beaten, suffering all kinds
of torture, and then he was sent to the Dalian City Detention Center. Li Zongmin
firmly refused to cooperate. By this time, he had already been on a hunger
strike for nearly one hundred days and was brutally force-fed. His life is in
danger. 3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Banners Carry Message of Falun Dafa
Everywhere "Falun Dafa is Good" "Welcome the TV Station to Broadcast
the Truth of Falun Gong" Recently, an overseas Chinese practitioner called a friend who works in the
Police Department in Changchun City. The public security personnel said that
recently, there are many posters everywhere in Changchun City, which say:
"Falun Dafa is good!" "Truthfulness, Compassion,
Forbearance," "Welcome the TV Station to Broadcast the Truth of Falun
Gong," etc. They hired many unemployed people to stand every fifteen to
thirty feet to guard the streets twenty-four hours a day. But, this superb
collection of beautiful posters still appears everywhere. There are simply too
many posters to be taken down. According to a high level official in Mainland China, now many people in
China (except a few people who suppress Falun Gong willfully); from all walks of
life, local people to military personnel, ordinary people to high level
officials; all secretly hope Falun Gong will gain a victory soon.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp Plans to
Increase the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City announced that beginning on
April 10, 2002, and for the next three months, Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp
will escalate the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in the forced labor
camp. The purpose for this escalation of the persecution is to
"cooperate" with the "serious strike" outside the camp to
try and force Falun Gong practitioners to give up cultivation. According to the news from Hebei Province, many Falun Gong practitioners
were arrested in one city, and because the current forced labor camps could
not detain so many people, they built a temporary detention center. During the
Spring Festival (around January 15), when the policemen went to work, they
found that there was no one in three prison cells, and that fifty-one Falun
Gong practitioners had escaped. Unfortunately, six of these practitioners were
arrested once again. At the present time, the Jiang and Luo's regime has established an arrest
quota of Falun Gong practitioners and informed all of the policemen in China.
Every policeman must arrest fifteen Falun Gong practitioners in order to meet
the required numbers. The police hired many unemployed people to assist with
the arrests of Falun Gong practitioners, paying them 500 yuan RMB [500 yuan
is equal to the average monthly salary of an urban worker,] for every
Falun Gong practitioner arrested. Currently, the Police Department of Shenyang City is conducting sudden
interrogations and examinations in rental housing, mainly targeting Falun Dafa
practitioners who are then forced to become homeless to avoid further
persecution. Some Falun Dafa practitioners have already been arrested due to
this type of persecution. The police have also urgently deployed the businesses and enterprises to
step up the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They have asked the work
units to be responsible for their employees and the residential committees to
be responsible for their residents. It appears that the Tiexi District is the
main focus at the present time. The people in the Police Department disclosed that all the cell phones in
Shenyang City are an "open window," which means the police can
monitor the conversation of any cell phone at any time without applying for
permission. Recently, the Public Security Bureau of Dalian City has been strictly
monitoring communication equipment, primarily targeting cell phones and
pagers. If they find any "suspicious" phone calls, they will monitor
everything and place the individual under surveillance. Some practitioners
have already been followed and arrested due to illegally monitored
communications. On March 29, 2002, at approximately 2:00 p.m., I was waiting for the bus
right in front of the Tongrentang Pharmaceutical Company in Beijing, Nansanhuan.
Suddenly, I saw a large yellow banner with red characters dropping down
perpendicularly along the side of a tall building on the opposite side of the
street. It was about thirty feet long and it said, "Falun Dafa is vastly
spreading, and offering salvation to all the sentient beings." The nearby
pedestrians and the people on the platform bridges all saw it. I stayed there
for about thirty minutes and when I left, the banner was still hanging. 9. [Beijing] Authorities Planned Illegal Trial of Practitioners Beijing City No.2 Mid Level People's Court will try nine steadfast
practitioners over the course of two days. One of the practitioners, Zhou
Genzheng from Xinjiang, has already received an internal sentence of 10 years
imprisonment. 10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Authorities Coerce University Staff
to Suppress Practitioners Since Chinese New Year, one can see many security guards at a major
university of Changchun city, patrolling the campus with police batons. Police
vehicles also slowly patrol the campus, and many plainclothes policemen have
recently been seen at the university. Before the Chinese New Year, the security department of the university set up
a brainwashing class for all guards of residential buildings and office
buildings. In the class, they are brainwashed by the evil propaganda against
Falun Gong. The authorities coerced them to be accomplices in the persecution. A
building guard has arrested one practitioner. Now the university is under the "red-terror", and many students are
very disappointed with the authorities. 11. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Police Coerce Practitioner, Claiming
"Not giving up Practicing is Anti-Communist Party" Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Xuemin was reported by some people who are
against Falun Gong to the authority in mid March for her actions making
truth-clarifying materials. She was therefore detained in the Yitong County
Detention Center. Over there the police tried everything to pressure her to give
up her practice. But Liu Xuemin is steadfast and refused to cooperate with them. Seeing that Liu wouldn't cooperate, the corrupt police tried another
approach, "If you don't give up practicing Falun Gong, you must admit you
are anti-communist party, anti-society and anti-people." Liu Xuemin
responded, "I am cultivating Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance. How can I
be anti-party, anti-society and anti-people?" The police tortured her. They
striped off her coat and poured cold water on her. Then they turned on the
electric fans to blow cold air on her and tied her to the "Tiger
Bench". Facing such brutal tortures, Liu Xuemin went on hunger strike to protest the
illegal persecution. Her whereabouts is presently unknown. 12. [Mishan, Helongjiang Province] Local Police Detained Practitioner Just
Released From Labor Camp Li Yongsheng is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Mishan City. A man of few
words, Li was detained in March 2001 to forced labor camp. For practicing Falun
Gong, he was charged with "disturbing society". The police station of
Hongxing County used the same excuse to detain his mother in December at Mishan
No. 2 Detention Center, where she remains. A happy family was torn apart by the
corrupt police. Li Yongsheng's wife alone had to care for their 8-year old
child. After enduring many painful tortures in the labor camp, Li was finally
released. But when he walked out of the gate of the labor camp, ready to go
home, police from Hongxing County Police Station detained him in the detention
center again, shattering his wife's hope of seeing the return of her husband. The police from Donghai Police Station also detained Falun Dafa Practitioner
Zhang Peizheng, of Donghai Coal Mine in Jidong County, at Jidong County No. 2

[Beijing] Beijing Aeronautics and Astronautics Materials Institute Set
up Many Brainwashing Classes to Persecute Practitioners In 2001, the leaders of Beijing Aeronautics and Astronautics Materials
Institute set up several brainwashing classes aimed at persecuting Falun Dafa
practitioners. As a result, some practitioners were brainwashed, some were
driven from their homes and others were forced to quit their jobs. Some of those
driven from their homes wrote letters to colleagues and family members,
clarifying the truth. These letters were all withheld by the Institute's
leaders. They have a list of core practitioners, and plan to hold another
brainwashing class a bit later. 14. [Beijing] Officials of China Traditional Medicine Research Institute
Xiyuan Hospital Suppress Falun Dafa Practitioners The officials of China's Traditional Medicine Research Institute at Xiyuan
Hospital closely followed Jiang Zemin in his persecution of Falun Dafa
practitioners. They forced the practitioners at the hospital to attend
brainwashing classes, forcing some to give up their belief. They are trying
everything to find the one practitioner who was not sent to the brainwashing
class. This practitioner left home over a year ago to avoid persecution, and has
been illegally dismissed by the work unit. 15. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Names Of Those "Enlightened
Along an Evil Path" Han Guilan, employed by Liaoyang Chemical Factory, "enlightened"
along an evil path. She supports the evil forces in persecuting Falun Dafa
practitioners, going all over to spread her corrupt ideas. Zhang Huili, of Tieling City, also "enlightened" along an evil
path. Not heeding the kind advise from other practitioners, she returned from
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp to actively support the evil forces in persecution of
Falun Dafa.
