Song Yongjun, male, 30 years old, was a Chinese Language teacher at the No. 2 Middle School of Dai County, Shanxi Province. In July 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested afterwards. He was sent to the Yuncheng Labor Camp, Shanxi Province, where he was subjected to brutal torture because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Later his family received a notice from the forced labor camp to take him back. Song died shortly after he returned home.

Feng Peizhi, female, around 60 years old, was from Changzhi, Shanxi Province. She was sent to the female prison in May 2001. She had been on a hunger strike in the detention center. In June, she was transferred to Shanxi Public Security Hospital where she was persecuted to death.
