Police Kidnap and Extort Money from Practitioners in the Northern Mountainous Area in Sichuan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) We live in a poor mountain village in northern Sichuan Province. Since July 20, 1999, when Jiang's regime began its persecution of Dafa and Dafa practitioners, 33 practitioners in our village have been placed illegally into detention centers, 11 people sent to labor camps, and 35 people who had their money extorted from them -- the sum totaling over 90 thousand Yuan. The authorities also denied unemployment compensation from workers who were laid off due to persecution - the total exceeding 10 thousand Yuan.

Some practitioners were deprived of their party memberships and/or official duties. In jail, practitioners were arbitrarily beaten up and sometimes tortured by the police. A practitioner was forced to jump out of a window from a great height and was severely injured when falling to the ground. He is still not fully recovered. Family visitors to the jail were allowed to buy things only from the sundry store owned by the jail, paying inflated prices of 2 to 3 times as much as outside. The police would use the excuse of so-called "education fees" or "material fees" to collect money from practitioners, and those who could not pay would be beaten up and scolded with extremely foul language. Oftentimes police would search practitioners' bodies for money and pocket whatever they found. When practitioners asked about the money later, they would not get any response, because the higher authorities had given the instructions: Nobody will pay attention, regardless of what form of persecution the Falun Gong practitioners have suffered. The local police authorities could do anything they wanted. They could put a practitioner in jail whenever they desired.

In spite of all this, the practitioners' steadfast belief in Dafa never wavered. We will study Dafa even harder. We will make sure that our conduct adheres to the rigorous requirement of Dafa and get rid of the evil with righteous thoughts. We will tell the truth about the persecution to everyone we meet, steadfastly eliminating all of the evil that harms Dafa.
