(Clearwisdom.net) In order to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up cultivation and to raise the "transformation ratio," [the proportion of imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners coerced to renounce their belief] the policemen at Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp began to adopt the methods of brutality and torture used by other camps. The authorities at Wuyuan resorted to a wide variety of inhumane means of physical torture, including severe beatings, starvation, exposure to freezing temperatures, sleep deprivation, kicking and punching, denying practitioners food and water, forcing practitioners to run for long distances, beating them with electric and wooden batons, and lashing with various types of whips. As if the aforementioned types of cruel abuse are not enough, Wuyan Forced Labor Camp also resort to even more severe torture practices such as "cuffing and hanging up" and "punishment by forcing to stand still for a long time." ["Cuffing and hanging" is a cruel form of torture where both hands are cuffed and the victim is hung from a support beam by the handcuffs such that both feet are off the ground or only the toes are touching. "Punishment by forcing to stand for a long time" is a form of torture where the victim has to stand facing a wall all day long, except for the time spent eating, sleeping and using the toilet. This abuse lasts for several days and includes 20 or more hours each day.]

In such adverse situations, practitioners' lives were not the least bit respected. In spite of the dangers and risk to their lives, the rightuous practitioners at Wuyuan continue to clarify the truth and expose the evil by telling their accounts of the brutal torture and abuse which occur inside the camp to the outside world. The following are a few descriptions of the specific abuse and torture that practitioners have been forced to endure.

In September 2000, Zhao Lizhi was subjected to extreme torture for approximately four hours nonstop. The Education Section Chief of the No. 4 Team Office, Cai, along with the Deputy Chief, utilized high-voltage electric batons to shock, slash and beat up Zhao.

In December 2000, Wei Yuzhi and policeman Liu Siruo used high voltage electric batons to cruelly shock practitioner Xu Fenggao, forcing him to endure this torture for three consecutive days.

Also in December 2000, Wei Yuzhi punished practitioner Cui Xiaojia and forced him to stand outside in the cold for the entire day, including the extremely cold night. Cui was also forced to stand in the shade in freezing temperatures and was deprived of sleep for more than fifteen days. Two other practitioners, Cao Guo and Ma Yingju, were also tortured at this time.

In February 2001, in the No.1 and No. 3 Teams, several policemen of the Education and Administration Sections used high voltage electric batons, and beat the practitioners with leather belts. Ma Yingju and Cheng Zhanguo almost died after being forced to constantly endure such intense torture constantly for five days.

Persecution in the Forced Labor camp is continuous. In June 2001 several additional severe accounts of torture were reported, as follows:

The policemen at No. 3 Team forced criminal prisoners to participate in the torture of practitioner Yang Fengyu. Yang was denied any water to drink during the heat of the hot summer days.

In the exercise yard of the No.3 Team, the policemen incited the criminal prisoners to punish practitioner Lu Yuxue, forcing him to run around the exercise yard eighty times. Lu Yuxue, firm in his belief, as he started running, smiled and said, "I will take these miseries as happiness." When the policemen heard this, the Deputy Team Leader, Du Xianyang and several other policemen used electric batons to torture Lu Yuxue, forcing him to endure the jolts of electric shock for over two hours. Practitioner Liang Dingchi witnessed this inhumane torture and could not bear to watch, so he demanded to speak with the policemen. His reasonable appeal could not change their evil methods, and he too received the same bitter torture. Also at this same time, practitioner Du Zhiyu, was beaten severely and shocked with electric batons.

Wei Yuzhi and policeman Zhao Naiwei forced practitioners Zhang Yan and Jing Haitao to read the "exposure materials." When the two of them refused to read, the policemen beat them and used high voltage electric batons to shock them for many hours.

In the No. 4 Team Office, the Administration Section Chief Zhang Qian and the Hygiene Section Chief Sha used high voltage electric batons to beat practitioner Feng Tianzhi, until he was black and blue with many bruises.

On December 6, 2001, on the ground floor of the labor camp building, the Deputy Director and Commissar Mu Jiangfeng gathered together the Administration Section Chief Zhang Tiefeng, a policeman nicknamed "eyeglass Wang," team leader Zhang Qian, Yu Jiguang of the No.3 Team, Du Xiangyan and Wang Jinbiao. Together these evil authorities established a clandestine tribunal to coerce "confessions" by torture. They punished practitioners Cheng Gang, Guo Bingqiang, Liu Bei and Li Suran, forcing them to stand and endure intimidation for several hours. Dozens of police used high-voltage electric batons to simultaneously shock them. They used triangular leather belts and policemen's belts to beat seven practitioners (Gang Ruitong, Liang Baochi, Cheng Changlin, Wen Yong, Du Zhiyu, Zhao Zhongyou and Yang Zhenqi). The beatings continued for almost two hours until they were all beaten black and blue, and were covered with blood. Some of the practitioners were beaten until they lost consciousness and some suffered concussions. Some of them had broken ribs from the severe beatings, while others suffered internal injuries.
