At the two Chinese government conferences [the People's Congress and the Political Consultative Conference], songs sung by Guan Guimin were broadcasted over the loudspeakers during the break. One of the attendees heard that they were sung by Guan Guimin (a Falun Gong practitioner) and said, "A Falun Gong practitioner is singing for the attendees!" The result was that those who originally did not know that Guan Guimin is a practitioner now know that Falun Gong practitioners are actually doing their jobs conscientiously in various fields and that many of them are very successful.

Note: Guan Guimin is now living in the U.S. In China, he is a very famous tenor.

Recently, one of my Chinese friends came back from Denmark and told me a story. During the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival, CCTV sent a production group to Denmark to shoot a program about the European Chinese people celebrating the festival. At the festival get-together, local practitioners displayed Dafa banners to clarify the truth to people. In order not to have any footage of Falun Gong truth-clarification in their program, the CCTV group had some people hold umbrellas to intentionally block the view of the Dafa banners. Even after doing that, the amount of footage they could take was very little, because many practitioners were there. So that is how CCTV deceives audiences in China.

After my friend saw overseas practitioners, got to know about the current situation of practitioners in China, and learned the truth about Falun Gong in a deep way, he utilized certain means to greatly help some of the practitioners in China.

Recently in a certain city, 11 Falun Gong practitioners who had been illegally sentenced to jail or held in jail were unconditionally released through a hunger strike protest to suffocate the evil. Their detention periods ranged from 1 month to 1 year.

At first, neither wardens nor criminal cellmates could understand the Falun Gong practitioners' hunger strikes. Now they have gradually begun to understand them and even support the practitioners. Practitioners' words and behavior have been noticed by ordinary people. Many wardens, cellmates and other people in the society now admire Falun Gong practitioners for their words and behavior.

At present, Beijing Municipal Party Committee has been sending documents to all workplaces and companies for inspection, demanding that the heads of all the workplaces and companies write promises that they will not hire Falun Gong practitioners. Many people with a sense of justice are very disgusted with this unreasonable and shameless demand. Practitioners who read this news, please send forth righteous thoughts to foil the Jiang and Luo regime's economic strategy and eradicate the evil so that more innocent beings will have a wonderful future.

Recently, at least 9 Falun Gong practitioners from Anshan City have been illegally arrested. It is reported that they are now enduring brutal torture. The whole city is now enveloped in darkness and terrorist acts. The evil police wantonly interrogate and examine pedestrians and even search their underclothes. Checkpoints are set up at every important line of communication. The police will carry out a massive raid in the city on March 24.

It is said that cable television networks were used to broadcast Falun Gong truth-clarification videos in many cities and counties in Jilin Province. But that has not happened in Yitong County. So the evil is really frightened that it will happen, and is trying to illegally seize practitioners and brainwash them. The officials and police assigned to monitor them are now visiting every practitioner's home and watching practitioners; some of them even use phone taps to monitor and control practitioners.

Before this (but after the Chinese Lunar New Year), some people who aid and abet the evildoers also schemed to set up brainwashing classes. But their plot was foiled by practitioners' righteous thoughts. We hope that practitioners from Yitong County continue to send forth righteous thoughts to break their scheme again. A few days ago, some evil people went to practitioners' homes to disturb them. Some practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid being arrested, and some practitioners were arrested simply for saying that they still practice Falun Gong.

Starting in March, a "strike hard campaign" has once again been going on in Shenyang City; it will last for 3 months. Meetings were held at all levels, from the government to neighborhood committees, to deliver this message. They have also threatened that "they are going to fight against Falun Gong till the end." The shameless framing and the so-called "exposing and criticizing movements" are being carried out once again on television and in newspapers. Now every neighborhood committee sends people to visit those practitioners who are on their blacklist, in order to question them about this and that to see if there is anything that they think is suspicious.

Here, all practitioners from Shenyang City salute and congratulate Changchun Dafa practitioners who utilized the cable TV network to rectify the Fa, as well as all Changchun practitioners who are participating in the Fa-rectification!

According to a practitioner who had been illegally detained in the Wangjiahezi Detention Center in Shenyang City, that detention center is a place "where you can not seek survival, neither can you seek death"--the only thing you can do is suffer. It is thus obvious how brutal the persecution is there against Falun Gong practitioners.

Wang Jinlan, female, 55, lives in Longfeng District, Daqing City. On November 11, 2000, because she distributed Dafa materials, she was illegally arrested by the Changxi police station in Longfeng District, Daqing City and was sent to the Daqing Municipal Custodial Station. Six days later, she was transferred from the custodial station to the Changxe Detention Center, where she was detained for 15 days. On December 1, she was released. On December 20, 2000, Wang Jinlan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In the name of needing to pay her fare to bring her back from Beijing, Xu Jiakun and Peng extorted 5000 Yuan [about 10 months salary of an average urban worker in China] from her family. After bringing her back, they sent her back to Daqing Municipal Custodial Station. On January 18, 2001, they sent Wang Jinlan to a drug rehabilitation center in Harbin City, where she was forced into slave labor for a year, in order to "re-educate" her.

Jiang Shuxian, female, 44, lives in Xianfeng Village.

Fact: She was extorted of 5000 Yuan.

Around 8:00 p.m. on September 2, 2001, Jiang Shuxian and Zhang Yaqin went out to hang up posters saying, "Falun Dafa is good!" They were arrested by two policemen from the police station in Hada Town, Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province. When they were brought to the police station, evil policeman Qiu immediately began using a plastic pipe to beat Jiang's hands, while asking her who made the poster. Jiang was confused and told them the name of the practitioner who made the poster. Consequently, that practitioner was violently beaten. The 3 practitioners were detained for two days and each was charged 5000 Yuan. After that, they were released.

On November 10, 2001, Zhang was going home after clarifying the truth to people, and the Hada police station police arrested him. After 2 days and nights of detention at the police station, because he refused to write a promise not to practice Falun Gong anymore, he was sent to Jidong Detention Center, where he was detained for 8 days. The Hada Police Station also extorted 2000 Yuan from him.

On March 1, 2002, practitioners Fan Yunfeng (female, over 70), Han Guilian (female), Han Guirong (female), Han Guiqin (female), and Han Mingquan and his wife, all from Chaoyang Village of Baoqing county, were arrested from their homes by village official Liu Hanzhang and director of the village police station, Gefeng. They are now being detained at the Baoqing County Detention Center.
