Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in Parade at Iowa State University

On April 20, over twenty practitioners from Iowa State and the surrounding areas participated in the Veishea Ceremony of Iowa State University. Veishea Ceremony is held once every year and it was the second time that Dafa practitioners participated.

Veishea is a traditional spring ceremony of Iowa State University that has 80 years of history. It is also the largest student-organized ceremony in this country. The most famous event of Veishea is the parade that attracts almost 100,000 visitors every year.

The parade took about two and a half hours from start to end. The sky was cloudy and the sun was behind the dark clouds in the whole morning. When our team finally moved to the starting point, the sky suddenly turned bright. The sunshine penetrated through thick clouds and brought the warmth to the people. Leading the team were four practitioners holding a banner reading, "Falun Dafa, Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" written in English. Some other practitioners gave out the balloons on which the words of "Falun Dafa, Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" were printed. The big lotus flower on our float was very eye-catching. The big pink lotus petals waved in the wind gracefully just like a blossom flower in the springtime. On the float, some practitioners demonstrated the exercises all the way. Many people were pleased by the peaceful and relaxing exercise, and began to wave or applause to us. Many others used their cameras to record the beautiful movements. The curious children simply started to imitate the exercises, so some practitioners taught them the exercise on the street.

When our team reached the stage for invited VIPs and organizers, the live-broadcast video camcorder closely followed us, and the host introduced Falun Dafa. Many VIPs smiled and waved their hands to us from the podium. We hope the camera can bring the goodness of "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" and the beautiful scenery to more kind people.

During the parade, our practitioners kept sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all interference from the evil. We brought with us several thousand copies of truth-clarifying materials but they were all distributed before we reached the end point.

Besides the parade, we also set up tent and booth to introduce Falun Dafa on the campus. We also demonstrated Falun Dafa exercises on the central stage of the campus.

We received much support from practitioners of nearby areas. From this, we experienced that all Dafa practitioners are one integrated body again.
