Los Angeles Practitioners Hold Candlelight Vigil in Front of Chinese Consulate on the Third Anniversary of 4.25 (Photos)

On April 25 2002, in order to commemorate the third anniversary of the 4.25 appeal by over ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing, practitioners in the Los Angeles area peacefully appealed in front of the Chinese Consulate continuously from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts at the top of every hour, practiced the exercises and distributed truth-clarifying flyers to passersby and to people coming to the Consulate.

April 25^th is a special day, and many practitioners came to the Chinese Consulate. Most notably, seven practitioners from Las Vegas set out at 4 a.m. and drove 4 hours to Los Angeles to join the event, driving back on the same night.

In the afternoon, a group of Tibetans came to the Chinese Consulate to protest. The reporters following their story saw the Falun Gong practitioners. They were curious and came to ask for information, take photos and shoot video footage.

In the evening, more practitioners joined the appeal after work. The number of practitioners exceeded 70. When it turned dark, the practitioners lit the candles and sent forth righteous thoughts every half hour to eliminate the evil. During the night, the flickering flames looked like they were crying for the 401 practitioners who have been tortured to death in China. The light reflected the steadfastness of the practitioners who stepped forward to safeguard the truth of the cosmos and to save beings with compassionate hearts.
