Indonesian Falun Dafa Association Sues Chinese Embassy in Jakarta (photos)

JAKARTA, April 25 - A group of Indonesian Falun Gong practitioners on Thursday filed a lawsuit through their attorney Adi Warman at South Jakarta District Court against the Chinese embassy in Jakarta. The charges include: the Chinese embassy had interfered with the experience sharing conference hosted by the Indonesian Falun Dafa Association on March 2 and 3 and forced themselves into the conference room; the Chinese embassy also sent letters slandering Falun Dafa to the Indonesian Foreign Minister, President, Minister of Politics and Social Affairs, Attorney General and Governor of Jakarta Province with fabricated charges that resulted in the cancellation of a legitimate parade and letter forming activities arranged for experience sharing conference.

On April 25, about 20 practitioners came to the district court to support the lawsuit. Practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and clarified the truth. Attorney Adi Warman representing the plaintiffs explained the reason for the lawsuit to seven TV stations and several newspapers. He stated that about 700 practitioners from over 12 countries came to attend the experience sharing conference. The permit, which included the experience sharing conference, parade, letter forming as well as other activities, was issued by police headquarters. Due to intervention from the Chinese embassy, the parade and letter forming activities as well as other subsequent activities were cancelled. The Chinese embassy also sent people to follow and videotape Falun Gong practitioners' activities during the experience sharing conference. The March 2^nd parade was forced to halt. The behavior of Chinese embassy not only interfered with Falun Gong activities but also interfered with the affairs of the Indonesian government and incited hatred against Falun Gong practitioners in Indonesia.

In the letter from the Chinese embassy to Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affair, there was such a passage, "According to their activity schedule, Falun Gong will hold even more serious political and provocative activities tomorrow from morning to evening in the area around the fountain and memorial." This fabrication clearly violated the law.

Attorney Adi Warman stated, "Cultivating the cosmic principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can only benefit society, without having any detrimental effects. The Jiang regime persecutes Falun Gong in China, while on foreign territory China interferes with Falun Gong activities through its embassies and consulate generals. We are not the only ones suing the Chinese embassy; practitioners in several countries are suing Chinese embassies and consulate generals for interfering with practitioners' lives and Falun Gong activities."
