Radio Free Asia: Falun Gong Practitioners in Belgium Urge The Government and The EU Organizations to Pay Attention to The Situation in China
(Clearwisdom.net) According to a report from Radio Free Asia's special correspondent in
Germany on March 13th, the Falun Gong practitioners in Belgium urged the Belgian
government and the EU organizations in Brussels to be concerned about the worsening situation in
China and help them prevent a possible massacre, similar to that of 1989, from occurring. After the cable television stations in Changchun aired videos revealing the truth about the
practice and persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin's government issued an order to "kill
without mercy." This aroused tremendous concern from the overseas Chinese students, scholars
and residents in Europe. Starting last week, Falun Gong practitioners, human rights organizations
and democratic movement organizations began a series of activities to raise awareness of the
situation. Miss Shi Yuhong, a student from Brussels who formerly lived in Shanghai, China,
introduced the action by overseas Chinese students and Falun Gong practitioners. Miss Shi said that the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has aroused the attention of the
Belgian government, the European Congress and other international organizations in Brussels and,
therefore, they will be more likely to take action helping to reduce the escalation of the
persecution. Miss Shi also said, "We will collect signatures nationwide in Belgium, tell the truth of
Falun Gong to the people of Belgium and expose the vicious persecution against Falun Gong
practitioners by Jiang's regime. We will appeal to the Belgian government hoping they will urge the
Chinese government to stop the brutal persecution and massacre immediately." In addition to those in the cities of Germany and Belgium, Chinese scholars, students and Falun
Gong practitioners in the Netherlands, Luxemburg and Austria perceive that the communist government
in China could massacre again its citizens as it did in 1989, killing thousands of students involved
in democracy movements. This week there were various activities in Amsterdam, the Hague, Luxemburg
and Vienna to appeal to the people and governments of Europe and the world to pay attention to the
situation in China.
