In order to avoid condemnation by the annual session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission for its illegal suppression of Falun Gong, Jiang's regime has fabricated false reports stating that Falun Gong practitioners have been treated humanely.

Yu Hongqiu, the head Taiyu Province Female Forced Labor Camp in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, held a meeting for the "special team of Falun Gong practitioners under supervision" in the labor camp at the end of February. Yu claimed to have received orders directing those in this special team to write articles glorifying their experience in the labor camp, falsely stating that the forced labor camp "displays care and warm feelings" in helping team members, that team members have received "humane" treatments, and that those "reformed" people all gave up their belief voluntarily rather than "under pressure." Yu pointed out that these articles were to be submitted to the Party's Central Committee and forwarded to the annual session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. Yu Hongqiu and followers called in those who refused to make up lies and deprived them of sleep, keeping them up all night in the attempt to brainwash them.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Fujian Province hope the UN Human Rights Commission will see the truth [of Falun Gong] and not be deceived by these lies.

Jiang's regime adopted a new unscrupulous approach just prior to the annual session of the UN Human Rights Commission. It coerced leaders at all levels, heads of higher education institutes, cadres in the military, managers of organizations and companies, and the general public to write to the United Nations. (Last year the government forced a million people to sign a huge banner.) Once these letters were collected, the government delivered them to the UN to spread lies, deceiving people around the world while escalating its persecution of Falun Gong.

Recently a huge number of VCD's have also been quietly delivered to thousands of homes in a southern city. On the discs are articles that tell the truth of Falun Gong, videos of "Self-Immolation or a Staged Show," "the Truth of April 25," "Stories Behind the 1400 Death Cases," "Human Rights Has No National Boundaries -- Awakening Justice and Conscience," and "Falun Dafa Is Good," etc.

A university teacher, upon watching the videos on the disc, said that he was upset. It is unacceptable that someone has been thus persecuted simply for his or her belief. He has expressed his sympathy to those who are under persecution, and said he truly believes that the Party definitely is carrying out these acts. He thinks this VCD is very good, and has given it to his colleagues for viewing.

As more and more people like this teacher learn the truth and join in to spread the truth by word of mouth, who will remain ignorant under Jiang's lies, and how long can Jiang continue on with his show?

Eight days ago, the head of the village spotted five Falun Dafa practitioners doing group exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts. He notified the police and called in a dozen or so people from the large [farming] team and the local police station to place the five practitioners under siege. One practitioner, the owner of the house, holding a bowl of rice, walked calmly into her mother's room and thus was able to escape. The police directed the remaining four practitioners to go to the police station, but they all refused with righteous thoughts in mind. One practitioner suddenly passed out on the ground, so her son quickly carried her on his back to a hospital. When two other practitioners were dragged toward the police vehicle, one fell down, giving her sister-in-law the opportunity to carry her away on her back. The practitioner who was pushed into the police vehicle jumped out of the window and got away. The only practitioner the police managed to take to the police station was a senior practitioner over 80 years old, who they were forced to release due to his age. Officers from the county police department were called in to conduct a forcible search for the practitioners. Unable to find them, the police took the son of the senior practitioner and a relative of another practitioner, placing both of them under detention for fifteen days.

When an employee of a university was applying for a "border transit permit" in December 2000, university leaders did not approve it. In March 2001, the leader explained to him that "It wasn't that we didn't approve of your application for 'border transit permit,' but higher authorities had asked us to keep an eye on Falun Gong practitioners, and warned us that "Some People Will Set Themselves on Fire in Tiananmen Square during the Chinese New Year Season."

On the evening of March 14, 2002, three female practitioners, 42, 50, and 62 years of age were illegally taken to the local police station at Qitamu Town of Jiutai City, Jilin Province. Two are from Gengxin Village, and one is from Hongqi Village. They are currently held in Jiutai Detention Center.

According to dozens of gamblers released from the police station, Lin, head of the police station, roared in front of everyone, "To gamble is something that can be excused, but practicing Falun Gong calls for killing with a bullet." He then told cooks in the police station, "If you see any of them practicing Falun Gong exercises, it's alright to drag them awake and don't let them sleep at night."

Note: Lin was the head of Sheling Town Police Station in Jiutai City in 2001. In November, he sent two female Falun Dafa practitioners in his jurisdiction to Dongshan Detention Center in Jiutai City, where they were illegally held for two months. Both practitioners were later transferred to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

Even though practitioners Ding Yong and Wang Guiquan were released after a one-year illegal forced labor sentence, they were again later abducted into a newly established "Brainwashing Class" for further persecution.

Zhang Quanhao, male, 33 years old, was sentenced to one and a half years' forced labor. He held steadfast to his belief and thus experienced a great deal of harsh torture. Since he didn't cooperate with the wicked persons, the sentence was extended by half a year. On February 28 2002, it is said that he was released, but in fact he was taken by police from the Hanyang District Police Department and detained in the Hanyang brainwashing class for a new round of persecution.

Cai Hanzhen (Zhang Quanhao's mother), female, 60 years old, was detained on several occasions in a brainwashing class, the city police department detention center and the Hewan Forced Labor Camp. At the end of December 2001, the police once again abducted her from her home and detained her in a brainwashing class, where she was beaten up and tortured. In March 2002, she was transferred to some other place. Her whereabouts are still unknown to us.

The authorities at the Etouwan brainwashing class in Qiaotou District, Wuhan City, tried many methods of deception, attempting to reach the "transformation quota". They asked the practitioners' family members, or the leaders of their work units to sign guarantee letters [that the practitioners would no longer practice Falun Gong] and then to push the practitioners out of the class, regardless of whether or not the practitioners agreed with the guarantee letter. They talked to the detained practitioners, saying things like, "You don't need to sign or guarantee anything. You just have to write that you will be a good citizen." At the same time, they threatened the family members to force them to sign the guarantee letters for the practitioners. When these methods of deceit were recognized, they began to talk with practitioners one by one, and separate the practitioners and not allow them to communicate with each other. The vicious people's ultimate purpose was to mislead and coerce the practitioners.

In addition, the staff members of the brainwashing class used their power to shift their anger toward the practitioners, and as a result the police guards often break the law. The citizen is completely deprived of his legal rights.

I am a practitioner from the Xianning area in Hubei Province. I am 43 years old, and started Falun Dafa cultivation in 1996. In December 1999, a few other practitioners and I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. As soon as we arrived at Tiananmen Square, we were pushed into police vehicles and the policemen didn't allow us to speak. In the afternoon, we were escorted to the Xianning Liaison Office in Beijing and detained in the basement for three days. Each day, we had a single meal of one bowl of rice and one side dish, for which we were charged 30 Yuan. Three days later, policemen from the Xianning Police Department arrived and escorted us back to a detention center in Xianning. They charged each one of us 1500Yuan for travel expenses. I was held in the detention center for one month and 5 days. One day, a police cadre heard that we practiced the Falun Gong exercises in our cell, so he called all of us outside and forced us to kneel down facing a wall. He used a pair of scissors, and, putting the points of them against my back, he yelled to us, "I'll let you enjoy your life here." In order for me be released, my family sent gifts and invited the police to restaurants, a total expense of over 1000 Yuan. When I was released, my family was forced to pay 3000 Yuan as so-called "Guarantee Money" (bail).

In the past two years, the police have ransacked my house twice. Early this year, a police vehicle suddenly stopped in front of my house and a dozen policemen ransacked my house and threatened to arrest me. My mother was so scared of the fierce policemen that she fainted and fell to the ground. The policemen were afraid that someone may have lost their life, and they reluctantly left.

March 10, 2002 is the visiting day for the No.12 Brigade of detained Falun Gong practitioners in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. The authorities at the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp compel every visiting family member to slander Falun Dafa before they are admitted to see the practitioners. Some people, anxious to see their relatives, thus said the words that they should not say.

Wanjia Forced Labor Camp's actions are shameless. Jiang and his accomplices want more people to go down along with them. Kind people, please don't be deceived.

Retribution:

The director of the No. 12 Brigade, Zhang Bo, received retribution and is currently still in hospital.

Six practitioners from Acheng City were detained and sentenced to forced labor. They are Guo Lihua, Sun Yanfang, Tian Yazhen, Sun Guifang, Kang Cuixian and Wang Mufang.

Practitioner Liu Limei and Wang Liyan are presently in the hospital. They are still on hunger strikes to protest the illegal persecution.

Hu Fuhui, a major "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] leader of the Guangzhou District Army Base has been following Jiang's regime in persecuting practitioners.
