Stories about Zhao Ming

Zhao Ming is a veteran practitioner from Tsinghua University. He became an assistant at the Tsinghua University practice site when the site was set up. He did a lot to spread the Fa and to organize group study. Zhao Ming rented a little house outside Tsinghua University's north gate. He made it a place for practitioners in Tsinghua University to study the Fa and to have experience sharing as a group. The little house was furnished simply. It had a few beds and one bookshelf. On the desk, there was Teacher's picture and Falun Dafa books. Later, in order to make it easier for practitioners to watch videotapes of Teacher's Fa lectures, he bought a TV and a VCR. It was cold in the house during winter. The wind blew in from the window. Zhao Ming always used cold water to wash his face and brush his teeth, and he drank tap water (many people drink bottled water in China). He had a simple and frugal life.

The little house was very often crowded since many practitioners went there to study the Fa. Many of them had a key to the house. When the practitioners came into the house, they found a place in the house and quietly studied the Fa there. Many practitioners were Tsinghua University students. They would go to Zhao Ming's little house when they couldn't find a place to study on campus.

Once Zhao Ming came to our home when I had a fight with my husband. I thought he would criticize my husband for not giving in. To my surprise, he said to me, "You are too attached to human sentiments. You wish for a perfect feeling and a perfect marriage. You need to get rid of the attachment!" I realized he was right, and I admired him because he could understand things from the Fa instead of being interfered with by ordinary people's feelings.

One winter I went to Zhao Ming's work place to pick up something. When I was about to leave, Zhao Ming noticed my hands and said, "Your hands are badly chapped by the cold. Why don't you put on some skin care cream? You need to pay more attention to your image as a Falun Dafa practitioner. You are an assistant. It won't be good for those you teach to see your hands like that." After a week, Zhao Ming bought me a bottle of hand cream as a gift.

One night, Zhao Ming came to our home to talk to my husband about something. When they talked, I went to another room to study the Fa. I heard Zhao Ming say to my husband, "We need to be like her. Nothing can be more important than studying the Fa."

At the end of 1999, the persecution was severe. Under threats of suspension, many Tsinghua University student practitioners were forced to write the so-called "Letter of Guarantee" to promise they would give up practicing Falun Dafa. Zhao Ming came back from Ireland and did a lot to help rectify the environment in Tsinghua University. Later, those practitioners renounced their "Letters of Guarantee" one after another. They said they would stick to Dafa and never leave Dafa again. Those student practitioners started to step forward to validate the Fa. The practitioners in Tsinghua University have been doing a lot to rectify the Fa and they have been suffering because of severe persecution.

One day during a group study, we talked about being determined in the Fa. Zhao Ming said, "Even if everybody gave up practicing, I wouldn't." Then he looked at us and added, "Even if I gave up practicing, you need to keep going." He was encouraging us to be firm and to take the Fa as the Teacher.

The things that impress me the most about Zhao Ming are his firm belief in the Fa, his excellent understanding of the Fa, and his total devotion to the Fa.
