[Qingdao City, Shandong Province] 15 Dafa Practitioners Arrested, Sentenced
by Mayor
On March 3, 2002, 15 Dafa practitioners held a small experience-sharing
meeting. Qingdao City's police authorities illegally arrested all of them. After
a hunger strike, several practitioners were released. About ten practitioners,
however, were still detained in Qingdao City's Dashan Detention Center, where
they were brutally tortured. According to related information, the mayor of
Qingdao City signed the forms to sentence all if these practitioners.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Abuse with Electric Batons: Chaoyanggou
Forced Labor Camp Authorities Attempt to Force Practitioners to Write
"Guarantee Statements"
Another round of persecution against Dafa practitioners has started in
Changchun' Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. Guards shocked practitioners with
electric batons to try to force them to write the "Guarantee
Statement." They told practitioners to choose between death and practicing
Falun Gong. Additionally, when practitioners met with their family members, two
common criminal prisoners monitored each practitioner.
[Hainan Province] Policemen From the Longkunbei Police Precinct Beat Dafa
Practitioner Ms. Liang Yulin So Severely That Her Eardrum Ruptured
On the evening of March 8, 2002, when Dafa practitioner Ms. Liang Yulin was
having supper with her family, a group of lawless policemen broke into and
ransacked her home. They kidnapped Ms. Liang to the Longkunbei Police Precinct
for illegal interrogation. The director of the police precinct and his
underlings beat her until she was covered with bruises. Her left eardrum
ruptured due to the brutal beating. Afterwards, these lawless policemen sent
Liang to a brainwashing class to the Xiuying Suburbs in the Haiyuzhong District
for further persecution.
[Haikou City, Hainan Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Lu Haiying Kidnapped
from Home
Before January 1, 2001, a group of policemen from Xinhua District's
Longkunbei Police Precinct and Haikou City's Police Department came to the
Zhongmao Zhidi Residential Area and tried to kidnap Dafa practitioner Ms. Lu
Haiying. Ms. Lu firmly refused to cooperate and didn't open the door. However,
the police smashed the burglar-proof door with a big iron hammer and other heavy
objects for nearly two hours, and eventually they broke into her home. Then Ms.
Lu was tied to a stretcher and forcibly carried away by the police. She was
illegally detained at the "Special Cases Group" at Haikou City's
Police Department. They used brutal torture to extort a confession from her. At
present, Ms. Lu's whereabouts are still unknown. The following are additional
details about her:
Ms. Lu Haiying is 33 years old, holder of a Master's degree. She worked at
Hainan Province's Airline Company. She is well known for being kind-hearted. Her
colleagues respected her for her graciousness and competence. As a model wife
and mother, she ran the household and took care of her child. The police made
this formerly happy family suffer such tremendous anguish. Ms. Lu's husband is
sorrowful whenever he sees their four-year-old daughter, who is crying for her
mother all the time.
We hope that all kind-hearted people will pay attention to Ms. Lu Haiying's
plight and help her to return to her home and work, for which she showed much
devotion.

in a certain city, a lot of colorful flags appeared on lawns and side-streets.
Many banners were hung up at a variety of places and countless little posters
were seen throughout numerous residential districts. People received flyers that
exposed the evil and clarified the truth. More and more people got to know the

Guilan
At noon on March 22, 2002, a local group, led by Li Wenxiu who is in charge
of persecution of Falun Gong, forcibly took away Ms. Pan Guilan, a practitioner
from Erjie Village, Gucheng Town, Dingxing County in Hebei Province. The next
day, Ms. Pan was transferred to Dingxing County's Detention Center and is still
being illegally detained.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Jiang Controls Media to Fool the People
According to inside sources, after the Changchun cable television broadcast
of Dafa truth-clarifying videos, radio and TV broadcasting departments recently
issued the following order: whenever the TV signal shows something other than
planned programming, the broadcast should be immediately stopped. All reports of
major disasters, unemployed workers and Falun Gong are to be ignored or
postponed. Jiang's media is once again at work to fool the people.
[Beijing] 10-meter-long Banner Hung on a Residential Building
On April 2, 2002, practitioners in Beijing hung up a 10-meter long (32 feet)
banner on a residential building in the Second Southern Circle area. The white
characters on a red background read, "Turning the Falun shocks the heaven
and the earth; the great enlightened being came to the human world to offer
salvation to people." With this banner, practitioners clarified the truth.
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Forced Labor Camp Officials Reward
Prisoners with "Earlier Release" For Beating Practitioners
Guards brutally torture Dafa practitioners in Shijiazhuang City's Forced
Labor Camp. They beat a male practitioner so badly that his kidneys were
damaged. It was heard that this practitioner, about 28 to 29 years old, holds a
bachelor degree. He is very kind and was beaten by prisoners incited by guards.
In order to brainwash determined practitioners, the guards said, "Those
prisoners who brutally beat Falun Gong practitioners will get their detention
terms reduced." Therefore, some prisoners beat Dafa practitioners without
restraint. Many malicious criminals were released in this illegal way. They went
back into society to continue to harm other people.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Once Again Arrest Dafa
Practitioner Mr. Gao Ke and Hold Him at the Taiping Police Precinct
Mr. Gao Ke, a teacher and Falun Dafa practitioner from Harbin City, was
arrested because he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. During his
detention at Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, he went on a hunger
strike for 83 days and was released at the end of 2001. On February 8, 2002, Mr.
Gao Ke was kidnapped from his home. He went on a 16-day hunger strike at the
detention center and was then released. On March 12, 2002, when he was
distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials in the Taiping District of Harbin
City, a vile person reported him to the police. Officers from the Weixinglu
Precinct in Taiping's Section arrested him. The police officers ordered a
locksmith to unlock the door and illegally rushed into Mr. Gao Ke's home, but
found the home unoccupied. They searched every corner of the home and then left.
We have recently learned that Mr. Gao Ke was detained at the Taiping Precinct
in Harbin City. When Dafa practitioners inquired about his case by telephone, a
supervisor of the Political and Security Section who said his last name was Mu
didn't tell us anything and said, "This is secret," and, "must
talk face to face." His words revealed his fear of exposure.

[Bijie City, Guizhou Province] Thirteen Dafa Practitioners Receive Illegal
Jail Sentences of Three to Seven Years
Intermediate People's Court of Bijie City, Guizhou Province illegally
sentenced seven Dafa practitioners to three to seven years in jail with
trumped-up charges. These seven practitioners have already been illegally
detained for about one year.
They are: Zeng Mianzhi (75 years old, a retired employee), Jiang Zuqiong (45
years old, a hotel employee), Wu Kunyao (30 years old, employee of a Chinese
Medical hospital), Zhong Xingbing (36 years old, an independent businessman), Li
Ping (31 years old, unemployed), Zhang Zhengxiang (37 years old, section chief
of a bank), Ding Xibin (61 years old, a retired police department employee).
Additionally, another six Dafa practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor
camps.
It was reported that this case couldn't be resolved because of lack of
evidence and was postponed for about one year, to allow for collection of
additional evidence. Now this wrongful case has added another record of
perverting the law to the judicial process in Guizhou Province: the highest
number of person arrested for distributing Dafa literature --dozens were
arrested; the highest number of person sentenced - six to forced labor camp
sentences, seven to jail; the heavy sentences - the longest sentence was seven
years and the shortest was three years.
Among these 13 Dafa practitioners who were illegally sentenced, three couples
were persecuted at the same time. Three families were thus broken up. We know of
two couples' stories. After Mr. Zhong Xingbing and his wife were illegally
sentenced, they had to leave a one-year-old baby without anyone to care for him.
Mr. Zhang Zhengxiang and his wife Li Ping had to leave their eight-year-old
child under his parents' care, who have no income.

[Dalian City] Abuse of Dafa Practitioners: Police Officers in Dalian City's
Detention Center Tie Dafa Practitioners Down and Subject Them to Daily
Force-feeding
At Dalian City's Detention Center, all Dafa practitioners who went on a
hunger strike were force-fed. The evil guards ordered prisoners to push down
Dafa practitioners and force-fed them a mixture of food to which drugs had been
added. After being force-fed, Dafa practitioners were forcibly put on an
instrument of torture: they were fixed on the bed with hands and feet cuffed
together. They can't move and can't take care of themselves. They suffered this
extremely cruel force-feeding every day. Generally, they were subjected to this
instrument of torture for about one month.
[Liaoning Province] Liaoning Province Authorities Hold a Meeting to Escalate
the Persecution of Falun Gong
Recently, Liaoning Province authorities held a meeting concerning the
Changchun television incident and staged a new round of persecution against Dafa
practitioners within Liaoning Province.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Police Authorities in the Kuancheng District
Violently Arrest Citizens
On March 8, 2002, some lawless policemen from Kuancheng District's Songjia
Liuying Road Police Precinct went to a Dafa practitioner's home, planning to
ransack her home. As the practitioner was away, policemen ransacked her tenant's
home in the front yard. They broke the window and took the tenant to the police
station. They didn't release him until the morning of March 9. Hearing the
shouting of the policemen, a neighbor went out to ask what was happening. The
policemen then twisted his arms behind his back.
Policemen from Mengjiaqiao Police Precinct of the Kuancheng Police Department
not only sent practitioner Ms. Lin Wenxiang to the Shuangyang Detention Center
but also put her husband who isn't a practitioner into a detention center. Their
two primary-school-aged daughters were left at home without care.
[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Personnel from Taiping District's
Weixing Road Police Precinct Entice Ignorant People with Money
A Dafa practitioner in Harbin City was reported to the police while posting
Dafa truth-clarifying material in the residential area of Taiping District's
Ermao Clothing Factory. A vicious person went there to visit somebody and
reported the practitioner with his cell phone. He even followed the practitioner
until police officers arrived. With regard to the reward for reporting Falun
Gong practitioners, personnel from Weixing Road Police Precinct claimed that
"the government promises 500 Yuan" and would give a further reward if
they can find out the location of the truth-clarifying material printing center.
A policeman named Wang from the Weixing Road Police Precinct has been actively
and rampantly persecuting Falun Gong. He even asked people to call his pager
during the night if they can't get through his cellular phone if they wanted to
report Dafa practitioners.

[Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Yu Xianna's
Persecution Experiences
Ms. Yu Xianna is 33 years old. In November 1999, she went to Beijing to
validate Dafa and was later put into a prisoner's car and sent to Beijing's
Detention Center. Afterwards, she was transferred to the Shuangcheng Detention
Center. She was beaten for doing the exercises and put in handcuffs and
shackles. She was then transferred to Harbin City's No.2 Detention Center and
held there until May 2000.
In August 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa for the second time and
was caught at the Changchun City Railway Station. She was later held at
Shuangcheng City's Detention Center. During the detention period she was
force-fed with high concentrations of salt water. She was held until November
2000 and then released after her family members were extorted 500 Yuan.

Detention Center Viciously Torture Dafa Practitioners
Doctor Liu from Shuangcheng City's No.2 Detention Center is a vicious person.
He always abuses and tortures Dafa practitioners and hides practitioners' true
physical conditions. When force-feeding practitioner Huang Shuzhen, the doctor
forcibly snapped Ms. Huang's wrist as she refused to cooperate. Ms. Huang's
wrist became swollen and hard to move. A big lump is still there.
Dafa practitioner Ms. He Lirong is 22 years old. On December 29, 2001,
according to the Chinese lunar calendar, lawless police officers Zhang Guofu and
Jin Wanzhi forcibly put her into a detention center. In order to find some
evidence, they dug up the floor in Ms. He's home. Not finding anything, they
even took Ms. He's bed apart. Ms. He Lirong staged a hunger strike to protest
the illegal detention and lost consciousness on the fifth day. Prison doctor Liu
said, "It's only because of hunger, she will not die." Under people's
persistent request, Dr. Liu measured Ms. He's blood pressure. Dr. Liu measured
three times. He pondered for a while and then said, "Normal blood
pressure." People asked why, if Ms. He blood pressure was normal did she
faint and vomit blood. Upon hearing this question, Dr. Liu turned around and
left. Ms. He Lirong was sent to a hospital and diagnosed as suffering from many
serious conditions.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Hong Liping had the symptom of twitching during her
hunger strike. Dr. Liu said, "It doesn't matter. She is just
pretending." The above are just a few examples of how he abused and
neglected Dafa practitioners.
Zhang Guofu, Jin Wanzhi, Wang Mingcai, Jiang Hongwei and some other people
from the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute
Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party
and all other political and judiciary systems] in Shuangcheng City
persecuted Dafa practitioners and treated human life as if it were not worth a
straw. After Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Xiuzhen was released from one year of
forced labor, the abusive thugs again sent her to Shuangcheng City's No.2
Detention Center. The practitioner has scabies all over the body and was
diagnosed with Type "C" hepatitis and emphysema when being checked in
a hospital. The personnel not only didn't release the practitioner but also
sentenced her to an additional three years of forced labor. At present, all the
practitioners held at Shuangcheng City's Detention Center are staging a hunger
strike. We hope kind-hearted people all over the world will extend their helping
hands.
