Zhang Cuiying's Trip to Czech - Painting Exhibition in Prague (Photos)

On May 1st, 2002, Ms. Zhang Cuiying, a Chinese traditional painter and Falun Dafa practitioner, arrived in Czech to attend her exhibition and give interviews to the media. On the second day, the exhibition opened in Prague and her fine serene paintings were praised by art enthusiasts. The visitors expressed their sympathy after learning about her experience of being illegally detained in China for eight months due to speaking up for Falun Gong and opposing the Jiang regime's brutal persecution. On May 3rd, Ms. Zhang Cuiying visited the President's Office and was warmly welcomed by the President's representative.

On the afternoon of May 1st, a Czech Radio Station interviewed Ms. Zhang Cuiying. The painter first introduced the characteristics of Chinese traditional paintings and her personal journey through her art. Then, Ms. Zhang talked about difficult times in her life when she suffered from many illnesses, forcing her to give up her painting. However, Falun Dafa saved her and she picked up the brush to paint again. From that experience, audiences started to understand the magnificent healing power of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang then spoke about her experiences of going back to China. Upon hearing about the Chinese dictator Jiang's order to ban Falun Gong, and having been a beneficiary of the practice, she decided to go back to China and explain the truth to the government. However, she ended up being brutally tortured. The host of the radio station expressed his sympathy to Ms. Zhang, and he also showed deep interest in the Chinese traditional paintings. He said he was honoured to know Falun Dafa.

May 2nd was the first day of the formal exhibition. At the opening ceremony, a Sinologist familiar with the paintings gave a speech. He briefly introduced traditional Chinese painting and highly praised those of Zhang Cuiying. He said these paintings were graceful, and serene, and he said, "The paintings are like the painter. However, she experienced eight months of hellish torture simply because she spoke the truth--- Falun Dafa is good!" This Sinologist gave the exhibition many kinds of support. Many people presented flowers and local traditional crafts to the painter to express their respect and appreciation.

On May 3rd, Zhang Cuiying and the representatives of the Czech practitioners went to Prague Castle where they were warmly welcomed by the people from the President's Office. The President's Representative expressed regret that the President was away, but they would bring the requests to the President's attention. They were very happy to meet Ms. Zhang and the Czech practitioners. Zhang gave a painting to the President as a gift and handed over a letter. The Representative thanked her for the gift and said that they had already received the letters from the practitioners. They had heard about Ms. Zhang's experiences and showed their sympathy. He affirmed that the persecution of Falun Gong was unacceptable and should be stopped immediately. He also expressed his admiration for the ancient and magnificent Chinese culture.
