Some Cases of Dafa Practitioners Being Persecuted in Qingyang District, Gansu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang ping, female, 40 year old, working at Gansu Province Qingyang County Post Office, obtained the Fa in 1996. She went to Beijing to appeal to the government in order to validate the Fa, and was detained at the Qingyang Police Station. She was detained for over 30 days and fined 2000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban China]. On July 20^th, 2000, she and other practitioners went to appeal to the local government in order to validate the Fa. As a result she was again put into criminal detention at the Qingyang county police station, and she was released after another 30 days. On the morning of April 1^st 2002, when she was putting up truth-clarifying materials, she was taken away by officers of the Qingyang County Police Station law-enforcement group, and she has remained in criminal detention since. Since her husband travels a lot for work, her son and daughter have nobody to look after them.

Wang Yuxia, female, 40 years old, a resident in Yima Township of Qingyang County, went to Beijing to appeal to the government twice since December 1999 and was detained both times. She was detained for appealing to the local government on July 20^th, 2000 and sent to a forced labor camp for one year. After her release, Wang Yuxia has been very active in clarifying the truth, and her home was subsequently ransacked by police. After the police arrested her yet again, she was sentenced to another three years in a forced labor camp in Pingantai Lanzhou, Gansu Province. Her family is very poor, and her daughter was forced to quit high school because of the persecution of her mother.

Song Tianpeng, male, 45 years old, Industrial Bank staff member from Qingyang County, was detained for one month by local police after he went to Beijing to appeal in June 2001. Since then, he has been continually harassed by local government officials. In February 2002, when he was hanging up truth-clarifying banners in another province, he was followed and then detained at Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. In March, he was taken to Qingyang County Police Station, where he was detained for a few days and then secretly sentenced to one year at the forced labor camp in Lanzhou city.

Zhuang Junfeng and Dai Qiaoli, a practitioner couple, were kidnapped in January 2002, leaving their two children at home alone without anyone to look after them. In April 2002, the couple was secretly sentenced to one year at the forced labor camp in Lanzhou City.

Yan Lanfang, female, 60 years old, family member of an Oil Field Oil Extraction 2^nd Plant staff member in Changqing City, Gansu Province, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in June 2001. She was fined 3000 Yuan. After being detained for one month, she went to Beijing again to validate the Fa. She was arrested again and sent back to be dealt with by the Oil Extraction 2^nd Plant Police. Hai Yanhu of this police section stole 200 Yuan from her belongings and demanded another 2000 Yuan from her family.

Zhuang Huaqiao, female, 60 years old, family member of an Oil and Gas group staff member, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in December 1999. She was arrested and sent back to the Oil extraction 2^nd plant police station and detained for over 40 days. She was also fined 3000 Yuan. In December 2001, she went to Beijing to validate the Fa again, and was arrested and sent back by police. She was sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp.

Cui Yumei, female, 45 years old, a staff member of Oil Extraction 2^nd Plant from Changqing, went to Beijing to validate the Fa. In December of 1999, she was arrested and sent back by the Oil Extraction 2^nd Plant police. She was then detained for over 40 days and fined 3000 Yuan. In December 2002, she again went to Beijing to validate the Fa. She was again sent back by police, and then was sentenced to 18 months at the Lanzhou City Forced Labor Camp.

Li Huixia, female, 50 years old, family member of a Lingzhong Working Area Oil and Gas Group staff member, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in June 2001. She was fined 3000 Yuan after being sent back and then detained for 15 days. The second time she went to Beijing to validate the Fa, she was sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp. After that, her husband Wang Yongduo, Changqing Oil Field Lingzhong Working Area Oil Extraction 6^th Group staff member, went to Beijing to validate the Fa. After being sent back, he went to Ningxia Yinchuan to hand out truth-clarification material. He was arrested and detained in Huachi County, Guansu Province.

Ma Zhenglian, female, 50 years old, family member of an Oil field Oil Extraction 2^nd Plant staff member in Changqing City, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in June 2001. She was arrested and fined 3000 Yuan. After being sent back, she went to Beijing again to validate the Fa and was sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp.

Liu Yingying, female, 60 years old, family member of a Changqing Oil Field Maling Oil Refining Plant staff member, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in June 2001. She was detained for one month after being sent back. It is not clear how much she was fined, but she was forced to hand in 1000 Yuan as pledge, and went to Beijing again to validate the Fa. She was then sentenced to one year in jail.

Li Saixia, female, 30 years old, an employee of the Maling Oil Refining Plant of Changqing, went to Beijing to validate the Fa in July 2001. She was sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp and had to pay 1000 Yuan as pledge.

Liu Haixong, male, 30 years old, an employee of the Maling Oil Refining Plant, and his wife, a teacher in the oil refining plant, both from Changqing, went together to Beijing to validate the Fa in June 2001. They were sent back to the Oil Refining Plant police. The amount of money they were fined isn't clear, but they had to hand in 2000 Yuan as pledge. Liu Haixong was detained for one month, and his wife for 15 days. The oil refining plant laid them off, so they had to live with their parents. Liu Haixong was later detained again for clarifying the truth and sentenced to the forced labor camp in Lanzhou City.
