Ding Guangen, Director of Chinese Propaganda Bureau and "610 Office," Arrives in Canada May 9th, 2002
By a practitioner in Toronto, Canada
(Clearwisdom.net) The Canadian media and the Canadian people should know
about Ding Guangen's crimes.
On May 9, Ding Guangen and his entourage arrived in Toronto for a four-day
stay. The Canadian media and public have the right to know that Ding Guangen is
irrefutably responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong. The people should be
made aware of his crimes against humanity.
Jiang established the "610 Office" in China on June 10, 1999. It was created
as a high-level government agency responsible for persecuting Falun Gong.
Director of the Chinese Propaganda Bureau and member of the Party Politics
Bureau, Ding Guangen is also a Director of the "610 Office" and is in charge of
all propaganda put out by the "610 Office." It is a well-known fact that during
the more than three years of brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China, most of
the slander and libel of Falun Gong was made at the order of the "610 Office,"
an extra-judicial agency which has power above all laws and the judiciary. As
the director of the "610 Office," Ding Guangen carries the ultimate
responsibility for these actions.
During the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in the past three years, Ding
Guangen and his accomplices in the "610 Office" made up countless lies and
slander. They used all the media in China, including radio broadcasts, T.V. and
newspapers to delude the Chinese people. Using the most sinister and shameless
methods, they also staged a series of events in order to frame Falun Gong, such
as the "1,400 examples" [which claimed that 1,400 people died from practicing
Falun Gong], the so-called "Tiananmen Self-Immolation Incident," the
"Shocking murder in Beijing," and other fabrications. They instigated Chinese
people's hatred against Falun Gong and they pushed the Chinese people, including
innocent children, toward the abyss of committing crimes against good people,
people who cultivate "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance."
The three-year persecution of Falun Gong in China has resulted in more than
10,000 practitioners being incarcerated, being sent to forced labor, enduring
abuse and mistreatment, losing jobs or schooling, being tortured and even
murdered. According to an internal source in the Chinese police system, more
than 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death, the youngest
being an eight-month-old baby.
Spreading Hatred Abroad
They even stretch the dark hand of persecution overseas. They use Chinese
consulates and embassies in many countries to spread lies and slander to the
local Chinese and English media in order to instigate Chinese Canadians and
other Canadian's hatred of Falun Gong. Some city councillors and Members of
Parliament have admitted that they have received anti-Falun Gong materials from
Chinese consulates in Canada. The Chinese consulates and embassies in Canada
also held slanderous anti-Falun Gong exhibits.
In November 2001 an American non-government organization's publication "Fine
Statement On China" described in detail that the Chinese government has
infiltrated overseas Chinese media step by step, attempting to influence
overseas Chinese people with Party propaganda. According to a media source, Ding
Guangen will meet with high-level players in both the Chinese and English media
while in Canada.
Canadian People's Support and Sympathy Toward Falun Gong
Over the last few years, we have seen more and more Canadian government
officials and kind people learning about the peace and harmony that Falun Dafa's
principles "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" have brought to society. They have
expressed sympathy and support for Falun Dafa. Many Canadian Senators have also
praised Falun Gong.
We believe that Ding's criminal behavior, lying to his own countrymen and
suppressing their pursuit of "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" and their desire to
lead good lives will not be welcomed by the Canadian people.
