Plain-Clothes Police in Sichuan Province, Chengdu City Secretly Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners

1. On April 25, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners Zhou Huixun, Chen Jinhua of Wunjiang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province and Du Yanqiong of Shuangliu County were having lunch when plain-clothes police suddenly arrested them. Practitioner Zhou Huixun (female) is a physician of Chengdu City Wunjiang County Seniors Hospital, and Chen Jinhua (female) is an official of Wunjiang County Hesheng Town Government. They are all over 50 years old. Since July 20, 1999, many unlawful parties have harassed them many times and they had to leave their own homes. That day, they were in a rental room of a farmer. Please pay attention to this. Evil beings have attempted to escalate the persecution towards them many times. Now it has been known that they are detained in Wunjiang County Detention Center. The whereabouts of Du Yanqiong is still unknown. We will add more details when further information is found.

2. On the eve of February 1^st, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Zhao Benyong and his cousin, Lei Yan, were arrested by force in their rented home by Chengdu City Shuangqiaozi Police Substation. The police also blocked the information and attempted to hide any evidence that these practitioners disappeared. At the end of April, we found that they were detained in Chengdu City Detention Center.

On April 10, 2002, Zhao Benyong's younger brother, Zhao Yong, and three other practitioners were arrested by force in their own apartment by Chengdu City Jinjiang District Police Station. Zhao Yong has been detained as a criminal with a "possible guilt" charge in Chengdu City Detention Center. There is no further information with regards to the other three practitioners. At the same time, Falun Dafa practitioner Zheng Fangjun from Suining City was arrested also from his own apartment. More details will be provided later.

Zhao Benyong, male, 39; Teacher of Sichuan Province Aerospace Industry Polytechnic College (in Longquan District of Chengdu City). Zhao Benyong obtained Dafa in 1994 in Guangzhou City. He is a firm cultivator and does not give in to the evil's demands. After July 20, 1999, the security department of the college used all kinds of means to persecute Zhao Benyong. In June 2001, he was demoted from his teaching position to guarding the gate, where he worked overtime without any increase in salary. His house was also confiscated. Finally, Zhao Benyong was expelled and forced to leave the college without a home to go to.

Zhao Yong, male, 30, younger brother of Zhao Benyong; Farmer of Sichuan Province Bazhong City Yushan Town Jinshan Township 3^rd Village 1^st Team. Due to a firm belief in Dafa, the local police, police substation and township government persecuted Zhao Yong. He was forced to leave his home.

Lei Yan, female, 16, cousin of Zhao Benyong; Farmer of Sichuan Province Bazhong City Yushan Town Jinshan Township 3^rd Village 3rd Team. In October 2001, the police arrested Lei Yan in her home and detained her in Yushan Police Substation. The police forced her to write the "guarantee statement" so that she would give up practicing Falun Dafa. Under high pressure, Lei Yan was forced to leave home.
