Falun Dafa Practitioners in Hualian, Taiwan Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day; Head of County, Mayor and Congressmen Salute Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa Practitioners (photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of May 12, 2002, Taiwan, Hualian Area, Falun Dafa practitioners hung up banners at celebration site at Stone Carving Park in front of Hualian County government to commemorate the 10^th anniversary of public introduction of Falun Dafa. Red characters with golden yellow background on the banners read, "2002 World Falun Dafa Day," and "Stop killing Falun Gong practitioners in China." Large balloons and banners stating "Zhen-Shan-Ren" were hung up at the entrance. The atmosphere was lively and extraordinary.

At 9:30 a.m., solemn celebration and commemorative activities officially started. First practitioners released the news, and then the Head of Hualian County, Zhang Fuxing, highly praised the event. He said, "I salute Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa practitioners, and I wish all kind people in the world can follow the principle of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,' to reach their ultimate goal in life." Hualian County Congressman Yang appealed, "All officials who oppose violence and respect human rights should stand up for those people being persecuted. Jiang's regime should immediately stop its persecution of Falun Gong." Hualian Mayor Cai Qita said that he has read Zhuan Falun and experienced improved health both physically and mentally after learning and practicing the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. He thanked Teacher Li Hongzhi for his great compassion and gracious favour. The purpose for him to attend the commemoration is to validate Dafa by his personal experience. Congressman Yang Renfu said, "Falun Dafa is a cultivation method that focuses on Xinxing [mind or heart nature] cultivation, requires practitioners to conduct themselves according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Dafa enables people to be good and upgrade their morality." A representative of office director for Congressman Fu Kunqi came on behalf of congressman Fu, and said joyously, "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa, I wish Teacher Li Hongzhi a happy birthday." Hualian County Congressman Zhou ligen said, "My relatives and friends practice Falun Dafa and their positive experiences have validated that Falun Dafa is a good cultivation way." Other representatives from different groups also attended the grand celebration. They all expressed their support to Falun Gong.

In the following cultivation experience sharing session, 15 practitioners shared their cultivation experiences. They expressed their understanding of Dafa's mighty virtue and their historic mission as Dafa practitioners in Fa-rectification period.

In the afternoon, through group practicing, group studying the Fa, sharing experiences and singing songs written by Dafa practitioners, practitioners felt closer on the path of cultivation.

At 7:30p.m., after practitioners' sending forth righteous thoughts, the candlelight vigil began. Videos were shown to expose Jiang's regime's evil persecution of Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Practitioners recited Dafa poems and thought in silence interchangeably. Every Dafa practitioner thought over if they have kept pace with Teacher's Fa-rectification process.

After the candlelight vigil, practitioners continued studying the Fa and exchanging experiences until next day, greeting the coming of dawn.
