By a Belgian Dafa practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday, May 11 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners celebrated May 13^th as World Falun Dafa Day at the Palais Royal Square in the center of Brussels.

At around 10:00 a.m., a group of practitioners assembled and walked to the Palais Royal Square. The practitioners handed out Dafa truth-clarifying literature to passersby. Kind-hearted citizens opened their building's gate to allow us to put Dafa truth-clarifying literature into the mailbox of each household. At noon, practitioners arrived at the Palais Royal Square, which had a festive atmosphere. Three large golden banners were displayed at the gate of the royal palace. From a distance, people could see the words on the banners that read, "Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day," "Falun Dafa," and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Colorful balloons imprinted with "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" decorated the two sides of the stairs to the royal palace. Children passing by requested the balloons and left happily after receiving them. At 12:00 p.m. sharp, all practitioners sat down and sent forth righteous thoughts.

In the afternoon, some practitioners practiced the exercises and some others handed out Dafa flyers or explained the stories behind the photos to people who were interested in them. The harmonious, peaceful exercise field attracted many people, including Chinese tourists.

One Western student was preparing to do a research paper on the topic of Chinese culture. He saw the beautiful and harmonious Falun Dafa, feeling that this is the essence of the Chinese culture. He then asked the practitioners about Falun Dafa in detail.

One gentleman stood for a long time before the photos illustrating the persecution of practitioners in China. One practitioner went forward and clarified the truth to him. He lifted his head, eyes filled with tears and said to our practitioner, "Thank you, after seeing these pictures, I feel very sad."

One Thai woman saw the pictures illustrating the brutal persecution of practitioners in China. She felt outraged and expressed that she supported the Dafa practitioners¡¯ endeavor to win their freedom of belief. She also hoped she could do something for Falun Dafa.

Many Chinese tourists accepted Dafa truth-clarifying literature. Some of them knew the truth and wanted to know more about Falun Dafa in terms of the characteristics of cultivation practice. Some had long conversations with practitioners and raised many questions. The practitioners patiently answered their questions.

The celebration concluded at 6:00 p.m. after the practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts.

The Falun Dafa practitioners in Belgium wish for the great success of celebration activities of World Falun Dafa Day around the world.
