Spreading Dafa at University of Maryland on Maryland Day 2002 (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday (April 27), after several months of planning and preparation and with coordination and support from all faculties and students in the University of Maryland, the biggest event in campus once a year, "Maryland Day 2002: Explore Our World!" was held at the College Park campus. Over 6000 people joined the event. As one of the campus organizations, Falun Dafa Association in University of Maryland also attended the one-day event. They were welcomed by visitors including Chinese people.

At the Falun Dafa booth, Dafa books and materials were placed on the table in good order. A few big display boards were placed on the right-hand-side in front of the booth, showing praise received by Dafa from all around the world as well as cases of Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. On the left-hand-side, were placed boards with the words "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" in over 20 languages. Most visitors knew that Falun Dafa is good and they opposed the persecution of Falun Gong. Many Chinese people from Mainland China were willing to accept Dafa materials. Some even came over to ask for the flyers. One Chinese gentleman asked to read "Zhuan Falun". A big family attentively read the "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance" boards. A practitioner went over to introduce Dafa to them and found out that they came from Bulgaria. So the practitioner invited them to take a picture holding the board written "Zhen Shan Ren" in the Bulgarian language. They cheerfully agreed (see photo). An old American gentleman still did not want to leave the booth after collecting almost all Dafa materials. A practitioner said to him: "Since you are still here, would you like to learn the Falun Dafa exercises?" He happily asked: "When can I learn?" We said: "Now!" So the practitioner and a young practitioner demonstrated the exercises for him. He was able to follow the first four exercises and his movement was accurate. He was very happy after learning the practice. Practitioners promised him to send him the videotape of Master teaching the exercises. He told the practitioner before he left: "I like your smiles very much." The practitioner said: "After I cultivated Falun Gong, I feel very happy every day from the bottom of my heart."
