On April 29, 2002, Sichuan Falun Dafa practitioners offered their congratulations on the newly established Saipan (in the Northern Mariana Islands) Falun Dafa Association!

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Jiang Pressures Changchun City to Establish "Falun Gong Special-Purpose Struggle Committee"

On March 5, through cable television network, Falun Dafa practitioners in Jilin Province exposed the fraud of the alleged "self-immolation at Tiananmen Square" which had been staged by the Jiang/Luo regime, and revealed the truth of Falun Dafa being spread throughout more than fifty countries across the world. The justice brought by this truth caused great panic for Jiang, so he ordered the Governor of Jilin Province, who was attending a meeting in Beijing at the time, to return to Changchun immediately and handle the issue. Meanwhile, under the supervision of officers from Beijing, the " Falun Gong Special-Purpose Struggle Committee" was established in Changchun City. Beijing allotted a large sum of funds for escalating the persecution of Falun Gong to "offensive special-purpose struggle" with the emphasis on the "protracted, arduous and complex nature of the struggle," clamoring that "the struggle will be carried out firmly and thoroughly."

The above order was "transmitted" among high-ranking officers, level by level. It was required that the order could not be transmitted completely but with "selection." Meanwhile, it was also relayed that Falun Gong is legally registered (whenever necessary) in more than fifty countries around the world.

[Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Meng Yinan Walked out of the Brainwashing Class with Righteous Thoughts After Suffering Extreme Torture

On October 16, 2001, Zhengzhou Falun Dafa practitioner Meng Yinan, a 48-year-old female, was abducted by the Criminal Police Team from the Police Department in Zhongyuan District of Zhengzhou City. She suffered through many inhuman torture methods, such as being hung up and beaten, and a torture called "barbecuing a whole sheep" [Note: the name of this torture implies a way that the practitioner was tied such as hands and feet tied so that the person is in a horizontal hanging position.]etc. She was then detained in the No.2 Detention Center in Zhengzhou City. Prisoners in her cell were instructed to beat her because she refused to cooperate with the persecution and because she did not wear the prison uniform. She went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal persecution. The police brutally force-fed her, causing her to vomit a substantial amount of blood. On the way to the hospital, she was still clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa and telling people about the persecution and suffering that Falun Dafa practitioners were forced to endure. Later on, she was sent to the Shibali Female Forced Labor Camp for medical examination, where it was determined that her blood pressure was very high. The policemen were unwilling to give up, and had them take her blood pressure again, which resulted in an even higher reading than before, so the labor camp refused to accept her. By the end of March 2002, Meng Yinan was again detained in the newly established brainwashing class in "Wanqing Mountain Villa" by Xiliu Lake at Zhengzhou City. On April 22, she miraculously walked out the brainwashing class, eluded the tight security and causing their brainwashing scheme to end in failure.

On April 29, 2002, Yantai Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Jun (working in the Yantai Chinese Medical Hospital) was illegally captured. A computer and a printer were also confiscated.

During the Chinese Lunar New Year of 2000, Zou Aiming came with some policemen, asking me to go to the police station to explain where I got the over a hundred copies of "Item 41 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China." I told them that I made the copies, but refused to go with them. At the time, I had been working with my wife in the field. However, they forcefully dragged us to the police station and threatened us by claiming that I was distributing counterrevolutionary flyers.

In their office, Zhou Guoji and Zou Aiming instructed the policemen to slap me in the face, attempting to extort an illegal confession by torture. They didn't get a word out of me, but illegally detained me. My father, brother and sister-in-law (also Falun Dafa practitioners) came to the police station. At the time, the police were ready to send me away along with three other fellow practitioners. My father stopped the police and asked what crime I had committed. Zou Aiming pressed my father's head to the ground in front of a parked vehicle and instructed the other policemen to beat my brother and sister-in-law with shoulder poles. (There were dozens of people watching.) I said to Zou Aiming sternly, "If you detain me, I will sue you when I am released. Who is counterrevolutionary? Is anything wrong with the Constitution of the People's Republic of China?" Later on, finding themselves losing the argument, Xiao Zhong and Zou Aiming put me back into the temporary detention room at the police station. The other three practitioners were illegally detained for fifteen days.

[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Feng Gang, A Lecturer from Dalian Aquatic Product College, Is Abducted Again Less Than a Month After Being Released

Feng Gang, a lecturer from Dalian Aquatic Product College, was detained illegally in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in 2000 and suffered extreme torture. He was transferred to Dalian Forced Labor Camp and then Guanshan Forced Labor Camp. In 2002, he nobly walked out of the demon's den. However, less than a month after he left the labor camp, he was abducted again at his home. Meanwhile, his 15-year-old son was also illegally detained.

Police in China Are Rechecking Rental Houses under the Guise of "Investigating the Floating Population"

Under the guise of "investigating the floating population," the Police Departments in China is arranging for each police substation to check residents in its area, household by household. They emphasize re-registering those who have rooms for rent. The policemen in each area order the homeowners to sign contracts with tenants and be responsible for them. It is obvious that it is a search for Falun Dafa practitioners who have fled their homes.

Recently, a fellow practitioner in our practice site was greatly harmed by the "discord sowing scheme" employed by the police. The police lied and said that this fellow practitioner had betrayed Falun Dafa long ago by providing them with "information" and had received a reward of over 3000 Yuan RMB each month [the average monthly salary of an urban worker is 500 Yuan.] An investigation proved that this allegation was not true.
