(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20th, 1999, criminal mobs in
Hebei Province's Xinle City have persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners.
Since July 20th, 1999, criminal policemen have arrested a lot of
Dafa practitioners who went to appeal for Falun Gong on April 25, 1999, and
illegally detained them in the Xinle Detention Center. At the time of all
so-called "sensitive dates" they would illegally arrest, without due cause,
those practitioners who were on their "black list" and fine practitioners large
sums of money without issuing any receipts. [Note: "Sensitive dates"
are days when a political anniversary or a national holiday is celebrated, or an
incident concerning the whole country is observed, or dignitaries are visiting
certain areas].
Below are the crimes that Bai Wansheng, director of the Police Department and
chief of the "610 Office" has committed. [The "610 Office" is an agency
specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each
level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary
systems.]
- In 2000, while driving two elderly practitioners who had gone to Beijing
to validate Dafa back to their hometown, Bai Wansheng verbally abused them
with nasty words, and inhumanly put the two elderly persons into the narrow
space in the back of the car while the car kept bumping along for over 200
kilometers.
- In the winter of 2000, a practitioner whose family name is Guan was
arrested one day before he planned to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa because
someone leaked the news. The winter of that year was extremely cold. Bai
Wansheng personally instructed the policemen to remove the clothes of the
practitioner. Left only with his underwear, they forced the practitioner to
bend over on the icy cold snow-covered field, turned a hose on him and poured
water over his whole body. He then forced the practitioner to stand on an iron
board, which had been heated to become red-hot, and continued beating him.
- He has ordered sweeping searches to arrest steadfast practitioners who had
been forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. He has also detained a
female practitioner for nine months without any valid reason.
- He has illegally sent three practitioners to Forced Labor Re-education; he
has detained practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong for
months and abused or mistreated them by either brainwashing, fining, or
sending them to forced labor "re-education." He threatened a practitioner who
had been beaten nearly to death, telling him, "Keep silent! Don't say you have
been beaten by the police."
- On June 14, 2001 he illegally searched Dafa practitioners' homes without
providing valid reasons, forcibly took the practitioners away and illegally
detained them.
- Some Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained many times. Lu Maocai
was fined 7,000 Yuan [about US$845]. Ms. Zhang Yongqin was fined 4,000
Yuan [about US$480]. Wang Guanjun was fined a total of 4,000 Yuan.
[Note: The monthly income in rural China is about 200 Yuan per month or
$23.50]
Bai Wansheng and others are fearful of their crimes being exposed. All the
above crimes against Dafa practitioners were committed under the instruction and
participation of Zhang Xiaorong, secretary of the Political and Judiciary
Committee of Xinle City, Bai Wansheng, director of the Police Department, and
also Ding Jiansheng, Chief of the "610 Office."
