San Antonio, Texas: After Giving Proclamation, Mayor Joins Practitioners to Hold Falun Dafa Banner (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Mayor of San Antonio signed a proclamation on May 13, "World Falun Day," joining the worldwide celebration of Falun Dafa's tenth anniversary. Since the City Council Meeting had run out of time, the proclamation was unable to be read during the meeting. Instead, the City Government made a special arrangement for the Mayor to pose for group photos with Dafa practitioners and other groups on May 23, 2002.

Practitioners took a banner to San Antonio's City Hall on the morning of May 23. They distributed truth-clarifying materials and explained to those in attendance about the persecution in China. A spirit of harmony and compassion prevailed.

The Mayor, Mr. Ed Garza, joined Falun Dafa practitioners to hold a banner reading, "Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The Mayor later displayed the City's proclamation on the stage of the City Hall conference room. This is the second time that Mr. Garza has issued a proclamation to Falun Dafa, following two proclamations made by former Mayor Mr. Howard Peak.

The practitioners presented Mr. Garza with the most updated report on the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Mr. Garza expressed his appreciation and best wishes for the future.

A group of people calling for freedom invited the Falun Dafa practitioners to pose for a picture together with them in front of City Hall. The practitioners accepted their invitation and introduced Falun Dafa to them. They were very happy to learn about the practice.
