My Understanding on How to Completely Deny the Arrangements of the Old Forces

(Clearwisdom.net) Why is it possible for the evil old forces to continue to persecute Dafa practitioners? Why is it that they can do so from so many aspects? It is because we practitioners have omissions. Everything in the Fa-rectification process has its own tremendous complications, therefore the denial of the arrangements of the old forces cannot be achieved simply by saying that we do not accept or acknowledge them. We practitioners still cannot let go of our everyday people's mentalities and attachments during tribulations, and these omissions themselves are the causes of our tribulations, used by the old forces as excuses to "justify" our continued persecution.

These omissions are not part of the human mentality required of us to live and cultivate in human society, but rather are our deeply hidden attachments that we find hardest to let go of when tribulations come. Actually, because of these attachments, big or small and whatever they may be, our uncultivated human side takes the lead in the Fa-rectification, and our cultivated divine sides are restrained and unable to help rectify the Fa. We are not rectifying the Fa with pure righteous thoughts generated from our cultivation of Dafa. Master told us,

"Whenever a tribulation comes, you do not see it with the side of your original nature but view it completely with your human side. Evil demons then capitalize on this point and inflict endless interference and damage, leaving students in long-term tribulations. As a matter of fact, this results from an inadequate understanding of the Fa by your human side. You have humanly restrained your divine side; in other words, you have restrained the parts that have been successfully cultivated and have prevented them from doing Fa-rectification. How can the uncultivated side restrain your main thoughts or the side that has already attained the Fa? Having humanly fostered the evil demons, you allow them to capitalize on the loopholes in the Fa. When a tribulation arrives, if you, a disciple, can truly maintain an unshakable calm or be determined to meet different requirements at different levels, this should be sufficient for you to pass the test. If it continues endlessly and if there do not exist other problems in your xinxing or conduct, it must be that the evil demons are capitalizing on the weak spots caused by your lack of control. After all, a cultivator is not an ordinary human. So why doesn't the side of you that is your original nature rectify the Fa?" ("Expounding on the Fa," Essentials for Further Advancement)

Facing tribulations with our human sides is, in fact, the omission that we have in Fa-rectification. It may not be a serious problem if only one or two practitioners have this omission. However, if every Dafa disciple has it, as a whole, this omission forms a space that might provide the fundamental condition whereby the evil old forces are able to survive and keep damaging the Fa. "If a cultivator can let go of the thought of life and death under any circumstance, evil is sure to be afraid of him. If every student is able to do this, evil will of itself no longer exist." ("Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)") I enlightened that what Master meant by saying "let go of the thought of life and death" was not that we should all give up our lives during tribulations, rather it meant that we need to face the tribulations with righteous enlightenment and righteous thoughts that we obtained from our cultivation.

Though Master has not ever acknowledged the arrangements of the old forces, they come to pass nevertheless. The reason this happens, in my understanding, is that Master has been giving the old forces chances time and time again during the Fa-rectification process so that they could wake up, so that they could awaken and give up all that has become degenerate, yet which they had so far stubbornly held on to. Fundamentally, it was for the purpose of saving them. It is exactly during this process that the manifestations of the old forces during Fa-rectification reposition themselves to different levels from top to bottom, from continued life to complete elimination. "Everything that's gone through Fa-rectification is completely different from everything they arranged." ("Touring North America to Teach the Fa")

The fact that the arrangements by the old evil forces have come to pass does not mean we have to acknowledge and accept these arrangements. On the contrary, we need to completely deny these arrangements and eliminate the old forces by their roots so that they cannot continue their obstruction of the Fa-rectification. Master requires us to do three things well: Study the Fa, send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth. These three things are exactly the guidance for Dafa disciples on how to deny and eliminate the arrangements made by the old forces. Only by studying the Fa well can we eliminate our misunderstandings of the Fa and the omissions we still have. By sending righteous thoughts we are completely eliminating the old forces. By clarifying the truth we eliminate the effects of the evil forces poisoning sentient beings and thereby eliminate the space the evil forces depend on for existence. If every one of us does not provide any space for the old forces, they will have no place to hide. If, at the same time, we send righteous thoughts to clear them out of the space that they are staying in, then the old forces will soon die out from our sending forth righteous thoughts in the mighty current of Fa-rectification.

As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, we must display our enlightened nature and keep our righteous thoughts in mind under all circumstances, just like Master said, "If you are able to succeed in improving yourself this way, what you do then, with a pure heart, will be the best and most sacred." ("Further Understanding")
