Jiang'an District Court in Wuhan City, Hubei Province Illegally Sentences Dafa Practitioners to Eight to Ten Years in Prison in Clandestine Trial

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 13, 2002, Jiang'an District Intermediate People's Court in Wuhan City, Hubei Province illegally sentenced three Dafa practitioners: Luu Lixian (female), Tian Lin (female), and Fu Lulin (male). This so-called trial was not publicly announced, and no audit was allowed. Even the practitioners' family members were not allowed to attend.

Some practitioners who had learned about this illegal trial went and waited outside the front hall of the court. They first requested to enter and observe, but were interfered with by police officers. They sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil and in an open and aboveboard manner entered room 108 where the trial was held. The three practitioners who were arrested because they had made Dafa materials (or distributed materials) resisted the evil with righteous thoughts. In court, they asked the judge, "Did we commit a crime by reflecting the truth?" "What we printed was truth-clarification material. We are innocent." Because of a guilty conscience, the judge announced a recess.

Although police forces heavily guarded the outside of the court, every now and then, Dafa practitioners still managed to post truth-clarification signs on the wall markers outside the fence. Several practitioners sat on the sidewalk and the edge of the road in front of a TV screen and held up their palms and sent forth righteous thoughts. Several minutes later, evil thugs, on orders from the court, pulled up in nearly 20 cars and began arresting people. Two policemen arrested a female practitioner and pushed her into a police car. The female practitioner turned her head and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa!"

Witnessing the police's irrational violence, the gathered people were angry but did not dare to speak out. A tricycle driver in the crowd said, "Falun Gong is truly amazing! They scared the government, and so many police came." Another man said, "There must be something wrong in the court! It must be a 'black trial' [illegal trial], otherwise, why would they make such a fuss?"

Among the illegally arrested practitioners, seven were sent to Jiang'an District Danshuichi Police Station. Because they refused to cooperate with the police's unreasonable demands, the thugs beat six of them. Even two older practitioners in their late 60s or early 70s were not spared. An older female practitioner's feet turned black and blue from the vicious beating. A thug violently kicked a female practitioner around 30 years of age with his heavy boots and also beat her. The other practitioners shouted, "Police are beating people! Stop beating people!" And the vicious police stopped.

Later, police from their respective district took these practitioners away. A police officer said to a practitioner in the car, "We know you guys are not against the Party and you won't overthrow the government. You are all good people. Falun Gong is so powerful that it can change a person's worldview that was formed over several decades within a short time. This is the real reason why the government is against Falun Gong."

After the practitioners were taken to different police stations, the authorities tried to coerce them into telling who told them about the trial, and also to write a so-called "statement of understanding." The practitioners faced the police calmly and the police gained nothing.

After tricking the practitioners who went to observe the trial into leaving, the court illegally announced sentences for the three practitioners at 5 p.m. Fu Lulin was sentenced to ten years in prison, and Luu Lixian and Tian Lin were both sentenced to eight years in prison.
