Dafa Practitioners' Strong Field of Righteous Thoughts Frightens the Evil and Stops an Illegal Trial at the Yunhe District Court, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province

As part of their continuous persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, the murderous organization known as the "610 Office" scheduled a secret trial for 10 Falun Dafa practitioners who had been and still are illegally imprisoned. [The 610 Office is a bureau that was specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level within the Party, as well as the political and judicial branches.] By the time of the trial, they had been jailed for 10 months longer than their original sentences. The "610 Office" plan was to hold a trial from May 20^th through the 22^nd and sentence the 10 Falun Dafa practitioners to seven years in prison. Being fearful of the consequences, the 610 officers did not announce this trial to the public nor to the family members of the practitioners. On the evening of May 20^th, some of the family members learned of the trial and were told that it would begin the very next morning at 8:30 am.

On May 21^st the evildoers were afraid of being seen, so they secretly sent the10 Dafa practitioners to the courtroom before 8:00 am. The 10 practitioners were Guo Hanpo, Chen Shaohui, Wang Bin, Wang Xiyi, Yang Quanli, Zhang Guodong, Gao Daxing, Du Yuqin, Li Zhifa and Zhu Zhonghe. One of the 10 practitioners, Zhu Zhonghe, was carried into the courtroom in a wheelbarrow because he was terribly weak from 14 months of severe torture.

The entrance to the Yunhe District Courthouse was heavily guarded: a number of police cars and several policemen formed a perimeter around the outside of the gate. There also were many patrol cars and policemen inside the compound of the courthouse. When other Falun Dafa practitioners arrived, the police stopped them at the gate. Only close family members of the accused practitioners were allowed to enter. Zhang Guodong's family members, who lived more than 70 miles away, arrived around 10 am. Practitioner Zhang's parents came with 7 relatives, including Zhang's five-year-old son who hadn't seen his father for 10 months. They were not allowed to enter the courthouse either. After negotiating, only Zhang's parents were allowed in. His brother pleaded with the policemen to allow the child, who missed his father, to see Zhang, but the brother was pushed and dragged away from the gate by the vicious policemen. The rest of Zhang's family waited outside for the entire day.

Although these 10 Falun Dafa practitioners had been severely tortured, they presented themselves in the court with dignity, openly exposing the evil and clarifying the truth to the court by recounting their appalling suffering during police custody. They would never cooperate with the evil.

The trial resumed in the afternoon and the 10 practitioners continued to clarify the truth to the court and expose the evil. In an attempt to deceive the public, the 610 officers hypocritically assigned defense attorneys to the Falun Dafa practitioners. The practitioners asked the defense attorneys, "Can you defend Falun Gong?"

"No," they replied.

The Dafa practitioners then said, "We don't need any attorneys; we will defend ourselves." Almost instantly, righteous voices in support of the practitioners could be heard everywhere and echoed throughout the courtroom, frightening the evil. The vicious policemen became exasperated and handcuffed the practitioners who were on trial. Practitioner Yang was pushed to the ground.

The illegal trial could not continue.

When other Falun Dafa practitioners in Cangzhou City were notified of this, some of them went to the courthouse and some stayed where they were. Together, they all sent forth righteous thoughts, eliminating the evil persecuting Dafa, denying the arrangements of the old forces and strengthening their fellow practitioners who were on trial. Inside the courtroom, based on their firm belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and their sincere devotion to Falun Dafa, the 10 practitioners defended themselves, frightening the evil. Outside the courthouse, other Dafa practitioners clarified the truth to the public. During that time, inside and outside the courtroom, practitioners created a strong field of righteous thoughts, forming an indestructible unit and frightening the evil. In the end, the officials had to cancel the trial.
