SOS Nordic Rescue Tour of Northern Europe Visits Gothenburg, Sweden (I)

First Stop - Gothenburg, Sweden

On July 11, the Gustaf Adolf Square in Gothenberg, Sweden which is usually crowded with visitors, seemed uniquely different. 60 Dafa practitioners from various parts of Sweden gathered here to display exercises and colourful banners. The whole parade square was filled with an aura of compassion and serenity.

Sweden's Member of Parliament and Vice-president Mr. Johan Lonnbro came especially on his day-off to attend the Falun Gong press conference and deliver a supportive speech. He highly commended "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," as well as the great benevolence and forbearance demonstrated by China's Dafa practitioners in the midst of the cruel persecution. He appealed to people from all walks of life to stand up and work towards ending this senseless persecution as soon as possible.

The representative of the Nordic Falun Dafa Association recapped in his speech, the past three years of Jiang's cruel persecution in Mainland China as well as Falun Gong practitioners' display of courage and determination due to their firm conviction in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance". From his own personal experience, a practitioner exposed how the Chinese regime exports its violation of human rights overseas to countries such as Iceland and Lithuania. Another practitioner recited a poem entitled "Praise of Lotus Flower".

In the afternoon, Dafa practitioners began their parade. When the slow and peaceful parade arrived at Avenyn Street, pedestrians could not help stopping to watch. The restaurants and the shops along the sides of the street appeared to be extraordinarily quiet, apart from the Chinese music of "Pu-du and "Ji-Shi" sounding clearly in the air.

After the parade, practitioners held a photo exhibition and at the same time organized a series of other activities to clarify the truth of the persecution to people.

Many people approached the practitioners to chat and take flyers and pamphlets. Others could not wait to find out about their local practice sites. There were even more people discussing with us better ways of helping Falun Gong and how to put an end to Jiang's persecution as soon as possible.
