Beijing Temperature Reaches 40.1 Degrees Celsius, A Record High For The Year

temperature in Beijing reached 40.1 degrees Celsius (~104oF) at around 2 o'clock this afternoon,
breaking the record for the year. "The pavement was too hot to step on." The ground surface temperature was the most
easily felt by the people of Beijing. According to a meteorologist at the Weather Bureau in Beijing,
the daily high temperature reached each day since early July has been over 30 degrees Celsius
(~86oF) on average, which is two degrees higher than last year. According to the meteorologist, the
temperature of the ground surface reached 60 degrees Celsius (~140oF) today at its peak. Since mid June, it has been rainy in Beijing, which is rare, and now a heat wave has hit Beijing
for many consecutive days.
